I've been to Dal Gallo e la Volpe three times in the last few years, and it remains one of my favorites.
Authentic flavors.
Excellent value, perfect service, and a lovely location. Excellent wine selection.

07/08/2025: My boyfriend and I went there on Sunday, and besides having divine food, we truly appreciated the kindness and hospitality of Gabriele and the entire staff in general.
We had a meat-based appetizer that we shared, delicious. Then we had two first courses, but I don't remember the names: ravioli stuffed with a mushroom cream and fresh pasta with meat sauce (very tender). We loved them. Since I'd read that their signature dish is the Genovese, Gabriele was kind enough to bring us a sample. I absolutely recommend the Genovese; next time I go, I'll definitely miss that one. It's delicate and not at all heavy.
Suddenly, we saw Gabriele emerge from the kitchen with a chicken and potato casserole, and his face said how delicious it was. Unfortunately, we couldn't eat it because they wanted to keep us light so we could go to the adventure park just steps away. We'll definitely have to try it next time. Finally, to round things off, we shared dessert, and what a dessert! A sweet eggplant parmigiana.
Oh, I almost forgot, we were offered zeppoline as a welcome appetizer.
Exceptional lunch, we'll definitely be back even if we're a bit far away.

03/08/2025: Intrigued by the photos and reviews, we came to this restaurant and were very, very happy with everything: the place is very nice, the food is delicious... very tasty... the owner is a very kind and courteous person who immediately puts you at ease, he is very friendly... the appetizers are very plentiful and tasty... as is the rest of the food... we will definitely return and I recommend it to everyone. 👍

03/08/2025: We went for lunch, a very traditional place. I personally liked it. The staff was welcoming and friendly, although they were few in number compared to the number of guests, so the service was very slow. The menu was simple, showcasing traditional local cuisine. The food was good, and accompanied by an excellent local wine. Parking was easy on the street. We ordered a cheese platter, a Montagnara appetizer (both shared), a mixed meat dish, and a steak with a pan of baked potatoes, plus a bottle of water and half a liter of wine. We paid €78 for two.
They gave us complimentary amaro at the end.
22/07/2025: Excellent, characteristic place, excellent hospitality, reasonable prices, good, plentiful, and authentic food. We will definitely be back! 👍

19/04/2025: Su suggerimento di alcuni amici mi hanno proposto questo locale. Eravamo in 4 abbiamo scelto una degustazione di antipasti, tutti molto buoni, iniziando dai salumi e formaggi per poi passare ad un assaggio di primo e una tagliata di carne divisa. Ottimo l’olio che utilizzano. Come anche il resto degli ingredienti. Abbiamo chiesto al proprietario un buon aglianico per gustare al meglio le pietanze. Anche i dolci di ottima qualità. Il conto, a mio parere, è stato congruo soprattutto pensando alla qualità del cibo. Personale molto gentile e professionale. Sicuramente da ritornarci, appena il tempo sarà più clemente

17/08/2025: The bread is definitely the company's best product. I believe, without fear of contradiction, that it is among the best in Irpinia. When it is well-crafted and baked, it can be eaten safely even after 5 or 6 days.
30/07/2025: Bread made like many years ago, baked in bundles, fabulous. It also makes delicious biscuits.

21/08/2025: The first courses were good, but the villa appetizer was disappointing: too basic for the price (ham, capocollo, pancetta, and a small omelette with a little ragù).
15/08/2025: I was there last Sunday, I liked the place and the food too, in fact I went back to confirm my opinion! I was there just today........and every cloud has a silver lining......everything was terrible.....we arrived at 2:00 PM and they served our appetizer at 3:20 PM, shall we move on to the main course? Trio of grilled steak and sliced Angus beef 🤣🤣🤣and here I laugh, it was served at 5:10 PM, but why did I make a mess.....the waitress justified herself by telling me I was late, that it was August 15th and that it was her first day of work! I let it go and asked for dessert and the 🍉 listed on the menu.....a tiramisu: two crunchy ladyfingers with cream and chocolate powder!
The thing that most outraged me was the price of the fixed menu, €50 per person. It wasn't worth it... mostly, they offered me Angus (which wasn't Angus, but a nice piece of fat), they asked me how it was cooked, and in the end, on top of the €50 menu, I found myself with a €5 surcharge for medium-cooked food! 🤣🤣🤣!
I'm not picky, nor do I care about money, but is that even possible?
Justifying themselves and saying they had problems in the kitchen was out of place!
Anyway, I left because the table next to mine hadn't even served the second course... it was only 5:30 PM!
What can I say... never again on August 15th... and not only that!

11/07/2025: Pessimo e un complimento, servizio indecente e camerieri indecente e cibo indecente, eppure l'anno scorso si è mangiato abbastanza bene Domenica e stato un trauma, che brutta figura o fatto con i miei amici .Nn lo consiglierò più a nessuno questo locale

06/03/2025: È il ristorante di famiglia da 3 generazioni. Posto carino, cucina tipica, porzioni abbondanti.
Prezzi sotto la media locale.
Proprietario e personalime gentili e disponibili.
Nel periodo delle castagne il loro giardino è uno spettacolo.
La domenica non fate tardi altrimenti finiscono le loro buonissime mini montanare.

23/02/2025: Abbiamo visitato questo luogo in occasione di un pellegrinaggio al santuario di Montevergine.Nonostante la sala interna, riscaldata da un suggestivo camino, fosse già al completo, il titolare e il suo staff, molto gentilmente ci hanno fatto accomodare nella veranda esterna anch'essa opportunamente riscaldata da due stufe.
Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti dalla qualità del cibo e dell'accoglienza.
