02/01/2026: Terrible experience on December 26, 2025.... terrible welcome, terrible service (we ordered a cheese board and they put it on the table without even explaining which type of cheese was which, nor the matching jams 🤦🏻♀️). The pici with garlic were terrible, the sauce was pale, and the pasta was almost overcooked. We finished dinner and no one asked us if we wanted dessert (which I wouldn't have ordered anyway, given the service, etc.). When it came time to pay, all the waiters had disappeared to chat among themselves in the kitchen. I had to call them by going in where I shouldn't have been.
Only the location is worth it. Everything else is terrible!

Super fair prices despite the quality of the food, location, and service.
The Chianina steak tartare with truffle and the Florentine steak are exceptional!

20/09/2025: Every time I go to Siena, I book at Michele's. I've been going there for five years now and have always had a great experience. I'll be down in Siena again in October and I'll book a table there. Excellent food, a large restaurant, suitable for large groups, polite staff, and Michele is a great character. The meat is truly excellent, as are the pasta dishes, a wide selection, and very tasty.
I recommend it.

19/10/2025: The service was bad, they were rude and impatient. The steak was good but the veal cheek was undercook and unpleasant to eat. The lights were too harsh and there were no music nor ambience.
14/10/2025: We had lunch here and we're impressed enough to come back for dinner the same night. The Bistecca alla Fiorentina was outstanding! The presentation was molto benne! As was the wine and its presentation. If I am back in Radda in Chianti in the future, I will certainly come back here!

20/03/2026: A lovely hotel in San Gimignano, with the owner's courtesy and helpfulness. The only downside was that we had to pay for two coffees in the morning, even though breakfast was included. Sometimes you need a good nose.
03/01/2026: A good location for visiting San Gimignano, about a 10-minute walk to the historic center. You can drive right up to the entrance, and even if there's no parking, you have plenty of time to get settled in. Simple rooms, a good breakfast in a lovely room, friendly and helpful staff, and a lovely picturesque view of San Gimignano and its towers, even more beautiful at night, from just outside the entrance, but perhaps from some rooms as well. I removed one star because the information says "wheelchair accessible," which isn't entirely true.

03/01/2026: I stayed two nights before New Year's Eve. The rooms were dated, poorly maintained, and not very clean!
The staff were very kind.
The breakfast room had no heating, so it was incredibly cold.
21/12/2025: Book by phone ☺️. We had a great time, highly recommended. The reception staff were very kind and helpful, they gave us lots of advice on parking in various cities, places to eat, and where to buy culinary souvenirs. 😋 It's a strategic point for visiting Siena, San Gimignano, and Volterra. I recommend their parking because the area is either blue or for residents.

02/04/2025: Wonderful. New management, new name: CONTRASTI: molecular kitchen. The owner or chef Christian was very attentive, and everything was delicious, a fantastic bread and all food.! I would like to go back to try the tasting menu!
24/03/2025: Non posso fare una recensione sul cibo, però posso dire che sono stati veramente scortesi, perchè dopo aver telefonato più volte per confermare prenotazione inviato messaggi, arrivati davanti al ristorante di sabato sera alle 20:00 ristorante chiuso, ci possono essere milioni di motivi per tenere chiuso, ma obbligo avvertire le persone con la prenotazione, comportamento non accettabile, senza alcun rispetto.

17/02/2026: We ate well! Mixed Piedmontese antipasto: I had tagliolini with ragù, and my wife had plin with butter and sage, tiramisu, and orange cake, all washed down with a decent Barbera.
The quality/price ratio was excellent.

04/02/2026: As soon as I ate lunch, recommended by a heavyweight, I had a great time.
The gnocchi with peas were delicious, and the Milanese was exquisite.
The service was very kind and courteous.
I can't wait to return to Bergamo again.
