09/03/2026: We returned to "Il Cavallino" after a while and noticed the improvement, especially with the first courses. We tried several first courses, which I think you'll have a chance to try again these days if the menu doesn't change. The seafood risotto, unlike anything you've ever tried, will make you fly, as will the seafood pasta and potatoes, and a treat that might be hard to find elsewhere: the seafood lardiata! For our second course, we opted for the classic mixed fried fish, which was very tasty and the fish was incredibly fresh. We also recommend the desserts, a treat you might only find in a pastry shop: tiramisu cannoli 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 and the ricotta and pear.

What can I say...in our experience, everything was perfect, and that's certainly no coincidence. Attentive service and absolutely perfect timing. Tasty dishes and excellent meat!!! I decided to go there with my friends because Antonio, the owner, besides being undeniably charming, made a courageous choice. As an entrepreneur, I know that success in work, as in life, is the result of the sum of all the decisions we make. He chose to open this beautiful restaurant, because it is also beautiful, in Casal di Principe, which unfortunately, despite the many good people who live there, still doesn't enjoy a good reputation. UNFORTUNATELY. He chose to set up his small business there and not in Aversa, which commercially beats Casale 100 to 1. And he succeeded with honor. The other Antonio, the chef, treated me to the best eggplant parmigiana of my life, served by Nicla, a waitress of rare elegance, discretion, and helpfulness, but never intrusive. Choosing the right staff is crucial to the success of a business, and Antonio, the boss, has also succeeded in this. Courage is a quality I appreciate, beyond the excellent meat and sandwiches we had the pleasure of eating. Keep up the good work, my friends! 06/01/2026: My family and I had seen this place in passing every day on the way out of Porto when we caught the various busses to travel around the island. It fronts onto the busy road so is obviously very busy during the day. Do not, repeat NOT be put off by the location of this place, it is a fantastic little grill and the food is amazing and easy on the wallet. We had kebabs, chicken, fish, pizza, good God, so much really, really tasty food. Good service and friendly staff, what looks like a busy road side venue during the day turns into a great place to sit, relax and watch as people turn up to collect take away food. We didn't actually think we'd ordered that much, but had to take some home with us as we couldn't bear to leave it!!! To sum up, we spent a week on Ischia and dined all over the island, I can honestly say Antico Girarrosto Ischitano was by far the best place we had the pleasure to visit. Saluti Antico Girarrosto Ischitano!!!

22/02/2026: What can I say about the "El Poble" steakhouse? I was there recently and I have to say it was a fantastic experience; I hadn't been there for a while. The meat was top-quality, tender and succulent, seared in the kitchen and served tableside, sliced ​​and ready to be cooked on a hot stone so everyone could continue and choose their preferred cooking style. I really appreciated the variety of cuts available; there was truly something for everyone. The appetizers were truly excellent, especially the eggplant pullastiello 🤤. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing evening. The service was impeccable, always attentive and friendly, and the prices were fair for the quality! I'll definitely be back soon to try new cuts 😉.

It's become a go-to place for us, so much so that we often bring friends, confident we'll always make a good impression. The staff has always been kind, welcoming, and helpful. The first time we came here, our son was 10 years old; today he's 16, and with every visit, he consistently gives it the 5-star rating. We think that says it all. Average prices, a wide selection of vegetarian dishes (as a vegetarian, I really appreciate it; I've never seen so many choices... and especially so carefully prepared) and beer. 01/03/2026: Today we had lunch at Il Covo di Leo in Monteruscello. I know this restaurant very well and have been going there for years, but I've been missing this one for a while. After all this time, I found it even better than I remembered... and it was already delicious! Leo is an amazing chef: every dish reflects passion, experience, and a love of cooking. The products are top-quality, and you can taste the care he put into choosing the ingredients. Honorable mention goes to the pasta dishes, which are truly exceptional, and to the meat, which is incredibly tender and flavorful. But, truth be told, everything was delicious, from appetizer to dessert. Leo and his family, with their warmth and hospitality, made our Sunday truly special. It's one of those places where you don't just eat well, you feel at home. An absolute confirmation. We'll be back very soon.
