05/11/2025: This evening we wanted a beer before dinner, and we ordered two beers, both very good, with a wide selection! With the two beers, we enjoyed some fries, nice and hot and crispy. Intrigued by the burgers served at the next table, we decided to have a burger and a focaccia, which were very well cooked and excellent quality. What can I say... what a great discovery, Doktor Maltz!!! We'll definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

19/09/2025: I've lived in Rescaldina for many years, but in recent weeks, Doktor Malz has become my weekly "refreshment spot." Wednesdays have become my regular stop at the bar: Franco is someone who has made history here, and maybe it's the atmosphere, maybe it's the friends I've met at the bar, maybe it's the food and beer that are exceptional—honest and authentic, no frills—but every now and then, an evening like this is truly refreshing. What can I say... just writing about it makes me wish it were Wednesday already!

23/09/2025: Excellent burgers and amazing beers! The prices are particularly fair, especially considering that fries are included. It's definitely a great place in a very convenient location, given the large parking lot in front of the entrance. Two problems: the first is that they have two sittings. The first is quite short, and having to leave your table rather early is clearly not very pleasant, since it's a restaurant rather than a cafeteria. But they clearly state this, so you know what to expect. The ground floor is very nice, but the basement is rather shabby. It seems like a temporary solution, so I hope they fix it.

16/08/2026: I like going to Roadhouse for their tartare and chicken salad, as well as their ribs. Tonight, however, the salad wasn't great... the croutons were soft and not crispy, and the chicken was flavorless. I think that can happen even in the best of traditions. Update 2026 I tried the good sandwiches... the overall menu has significantly improved.

29/07/2026: Maybe because it was Mother's Day and the place was packed. So the dishes were quite late arriving at the table.

06/08/2026: Wednesday evening, after the movie (which ended around 8 PM), I went to dinner at KFC with my boyfriend. Compared to the last time I was there, I found the place to be truly dilapidated. First of all: right during dinner time, they only kept the small space in front of the registers open. The entire larger area with the tables was closed because a worker was cleaning. The result? People crowded together, standing or forced to compete for the few available tables, all of which were already occupied. When someone got up, they left the tables and sofas in disgusting conditions, and no one cleaned them up, even though there was staff present. We sat on a sofa that was literally torn to pieces, with food stains on the seats and a table in a state of disrepair. I had the distinct feeling that I needed to throw my clothes in the washing machine (and maybe myself too). Other people around us were sitting at tables that were already occupied because there was literally no room. Closing half the room at 8:00 PM on a Wednesday night, with people arriving from the cinema, is an incomprehensible decision: if you see customers arriving, reopen the space, don't crowd everyone in front of the kiosks. Then the service at the counter. The staff doesn't speak (or speaks very little) Italian. My boyfriend was given his menus without a refill cup. When he asked for one, the girl didn't understand, made faces, and gaped at him as if he were speaking an alien language or requesting something absurd. Another colleague had to intervene, who immediately understood "glass" and gave it to him. Rude attitude, downcast looks, and a complete inability to handle basic requests. The floor was littered with straws, scraps of food, and trash: it looked like a landfill. Dirty tables, unfit seating, and no desire to maintain even a minimum of decorum. The food is already overpriced compared to the quality. Add to that one-star service, filthy tables, uncommunicative staff, and a dining room half-closed during peak hours, and the picture is complete. Terrible experience; I'll never set foot there again. Inside Petali, there are several places where at least the seating is clean, the staff is helpful, and they speak a modicum of Italian. This is a real downfall.

06/08/2026: truly bordering on madness.... I went with a friend of mine for dinner on a weekday in August and what I found was simply total chaos: let's start with the first problem, that is, the fact that the cash register wasn't working (for me it's inconceivable that the only cash register there isn't working) and moreover there wasn't even a single notice saying that the cash register was closed so some poor wretch would wait for 10 minutes in vain (since the lady who was there didn't give a single indication even if she saw you standing there for 10 minutes or more), problem number 2 which that evening must have been the heat or the disorganization (in terms of the number of employees evidently too few) the lady in charge of serving the food was shouting as if she were possessed and for those who were sitting at the nearby tables it seemed unkind and unprofessional (with this I understand maybe the bad day and all that you want but a moment of decorum... ps she even started arguing with a lady who rightly He complained about waiting there for too long but the employee was there alone with no helpers. The third problem is that it's not possible that at 8:40 PM many of the items on the menus/offers on the app have already sold out (with people still coming...). In addition to the truly shameful waiting time, considering they pass themselves off as "fast food" but there's nothing fast about it (like 20/25 minutes of standing). Luckily, they have food that at least doesn't disappoint.

11/10/2025: Excellent place for dinner. We've been there a couple of times and had some delicious burgers and sandwiches, with exquisite service from the owners and a very pleasant atmosphere. If you're in La Spezia, you won't regret it.

11/07/2025: Tasty hamburger choices, cherry picked local treats and a good selection of beer 🍺 All in a friendly environment delighted with good music. If all this sounds good to you Hob is what you are looking for ;)

28/05/2026: There's the classic online menu, but in this case you order by sending WhatsApp messages. We arrived at 1:00 PM and by 1:30 PM we had already completed all our orders. Despite this, at 3:00 PM we were still waiting for all our dishes to arrive. The service was slow and disorganized. We were also very disappointed with the food: some dishes were truly beyond reproach, so much so that we had to leave them. For example, the Cantonese rice had a very strong buttery aftertaste, and the gyoza were still slightly undercooked. The price was slightly lower than other all-you-can-eat restaurants in the area, considering that water is also included.

29/07/2026: The style has changed; now it feels like a local trattoria, but with expensive sandwiches. This evening I ordered a 0.5L beer, they brought me a 0.3L glass, and they refused, charging me for a 0.5L. The sandwiches were good, but not good enough to spend almost €50 for two (two sandwiches, a beer, and a water). Too bad.

08/06/2026: Prices are definitely too high for the quality offered. The proximity to the seafront doesn't justify such a high price tag. Not recommended!

11/07/2026: Nice Irish-style pub with a wide selection of appetizers, some of which are unusual (like pulled pork nuggets), and plenty of drinks. Everything was good, the staff was friendly and fast, and I really enjoyed it.

05/07/2026: A truly welcoming place, especially the owner and staff, who were extremely kind and attentive in every way. A truly positive experience! Plus, I'd forgotten my phone in the place, and when I returned, they'd kept it and returned it to me without any problem. A gesture that's not at all a given these days and says a lot about the people who work there. I happened to go for an aperitivo, excellent spritzes at fair prices, and a quality platter as well. I'll definitely be back and recommend it to everyone!

07/06/2026: A 1970s-style restaurant (Happy Days, Hazard) with a good number of tables inside and additional tables in the outdoor (uncovered) area. Convenient for an after-hours snack, being one of the few options with a kitchen open well into the night, with free parking nearby. As for the burgers (which are the best option), you can choose between frozen meat and freshly ground beef (100g or 200g). All the burgers are practically the same price (depending on the type of meat), partly because they are very similar, with very little variation in the topping ingredients. Mayonnaise, mustard, or ketchup are not provided at the table. The recently introduced pulled pork is not bad, served in a ciabatta-style loaf (also frozen bread). The focaccia (in my case, a Stingray) was very disappointing: well-cooked but small and particularly dry, due to it being too thin and sparsely topped (minimal speck and provolone, insufficient tomato and salad). At €8, it's definitely not worth it, considering it's smaller and less elaborate than a hamburger or pulled pork (not to mention a pizza or flatbread at a pizzeria, which are twice the price). Pros: fairly quick service, adequate restrooms, helpful and friendly owner, and young and friendly staff.

26/05/2026: The place is very aesthetically pleasing, very reminiscent of the '80s. The food is very good, with a variety of sandwich options, including gluten-free. The only downside is that it's not very visible from the street, making it difficult to see. I'd recommend a large, illuminated sign.

06/06/2026: Professional, welcoming, and always smiling staff. The food is light, with many variations, and absolutely delicious. It's become one of my favorite places ❤️

21/03/2026: Lots of variety and very tasty food at reasonable prices. The only downside is perhaps the €2 cover charge per person. I'd go back.
