04/01/2026: Wonderful experience! I've never had a better Florentine steak. Frankly, the price was even too low for the quality of the food we ate. I HIGHLY recommend it!

30/12/2025: We chose this restaurant on a beautiful Sunday in November, inspired by the numerous positive reviews, and I must say we were completely satisfied! We sat in the second room, more modern and welcoming than the entrance, and immediately appreciated the elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere and the kindness of the staff. Pappardelle with wild boar ragù, fried porcini mushrooms, a delicious roasted porcini mushroom cap, and the inevitable steak! A good red wine accompanied it, and a cream-filled millefeuille for dessert. What can I say... it was an absolutely satisfying lunch. We waited a bit for the meat, probably because the place was crowded, but it was absolutely worth it: quality produce, cooked properly, and beautifully presented... Excellent! The pappardelle with wild boar thrilled the kids, and the mushrooms were the icing on the cake of a lunch that simply leaves you wanting more. Considering the quality of the product, the bill seemed fair for what we ordered. Parking might be a bit difficult along the road that runs through this small corner of Nievole; I'd recommend arriving 10 minutes before rush hour. Otherwise, "Il Pellegrino" keeps all its promises and offers customers a totally positive experience! Top marks!

14/02/2026: Wwwooowww!!! A place with an unparalleled view. To say it's wonderful is simply an understatement. Excellent, high-quality food. The menu consists of just a few dishes, but they're executed excellently. We had the steak, which was extraordinary; the mushroom squares with sausage and pumpkin, which I highly recommend; two side dishes, one of which was delicious sautéed vegetables; and finally, a sampling of delicious desserts. I'd say the service was special because the owner is truly a wonderful and kind person, and he's incredibly friendly, and meeting people like that these days is rare. A welcome that embraced me. We promised each other we'd return; we've discovered a place we love.

16/12/2025: Beautiful and well-kept place, we can eat inside and outside, beautiful terrace from which you can see the landscape, excellent place to eat Tuscan food, very good appetizers and very good first and second courses, typical meat and fish dishes, very kind and professional both the staff and the owner as soon as you arrive to order, the staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home and satisfy your requests, clean restrooms, good prices, large parking lot, that's why I gave it 4 stars, I recommend trying the pizzas and the tagliolini with lobster, they are finger-licking good, and the Cinta Senese pork loin with fried patent and fried porcini mushrooms 😋😋😀

28/02/2026: Excellent place. Very beautiful, unique decor that enhances the sense of well-being at the table. Recommended by the owner, we tried a trio of truly exceptional first courses. The same goes for the pizzas, which are truly delicious. Congratulations!

05/10/2025: Excellent pastry shop in the center of Monsummano. The staff is very kind and attentive to their customers' needs. They produce both gluten- and gluten-free products, without the risk of cross-contamination. Between the two of us, we had two cappuccinos, a croissant with their chocolate cream (highly recommended), and a gluten-free pain au chocolat. Everything was delicious. The prices are slightly higher than average, but for the quality, it's absolutely worth it.

08/12/2025: I wasn't expecting to find such a large, well-kept, and organized space. The cappuccino was excellent despite the chaos, and the croissant was worthy of its name. Truly well done!!

10/01/2026: A guarantee of quality and price! It may not be a starred pastry shop or a gourmet pastry shop, but it's the only one that even someone with gastritis can eat without going to the bathroom... and it's the only one left that uses the old-fashioned way... 5 stars should also be given to the staff, but it's not a real Maremma.

22/10/2025: Stopped in for some paninis and pizza slices. All very tasty, and nice to eat them outside (indoor seating also available). The man working here also makes a coffee, cream, and chocolate drink he calls Moroccan Coffee (pictured below). We got 2 after the meal and were impressed! I recommend giving it a try. One small note - the address for this spot is Piazza del Duomo, 15. Currently on Google its location a bit ambiguous, but if you search for Piazza del Duomo, 15, its exactly location will be on the map.

18/10/2025: Caffè Duomo is located in the piazza of the same name, a fantastic spot for enjoying breakfast or an aperitivo at the outdoor tables overlooking the square. The service is excellent and friendly, and you must try the Moroccan coffee (coffee, hot chocolate, and cream), which the owner masterfully prepares.

28/01/2026: First problem, the waitress recommended a wine, saying it was excellent (26 euros)... but it was a table wine, little more than a tavernello.... the other thing we didn't like at all!!! was the "Bistecca" (steak). They were shown a raw steak 8/9 cm thick, but another steak arrived at the table already cut and full of sinew.... and then why a steak without a fillet? Then it shouldn't be called "bistecca" on the menu, but "costata" (rib eye), and the price can't be the same.....!!! Furthermore, for the service and the food we were served, the price is extremely excessive.

15/01/2026: Business lunch: top-notch "Sorani" beans, top-notch ricotta fritters. Kudos to Carla, who pampers her customers. A must-try for anyone in the area.

14/09/2025: Recently visited this charming little bar located conveniently near the University of Messina. As expected for the area, you'll find plenty of students frequenting this spot, creating a lively academic atmosphere. Space & Seating: The bar is quite compact with limited seating, so if you're planning to visit with a larger group, I'd recommend arriving early or being prepared to wait. During daytime hours, the outdoor seating can get quite sunny, making indoor spots more comfortable. Service & Staff: The service was pleasant, with friendly male and female bartenders who were professional and accommodating throughout my visit. I ordered the Crema di Caffè with Panna, which offered good value for money in terms of both quality and portion size. While it was enjoyable and reasonably priced, I wouldn't say it's the absolute best Crema di Caffè you'll find in Messina – but certainly worth trying. Overall: A decent neighborhood spot that's definitely worth a try if you're walking through this area of Messina. While it has some limitations in terms of space and the sweetness level of certain items, the friendly service and reasonable prices make it a solid choice for a quick coffee break, especially if you're in the university district. Recommended for: Students, coffee lovers, quick stops, solo visits
