09/06/2026: At the invitation of the owners of our rental home, we ended up at this non-touristy restaurant. And it turned out to be the best experience of our holiday! My girlfriend and I were the only ones in the place who didn't speak Italian, but we were well assisted by the staff and our party. On their recommendation, we first ordered the trio of tartare and the carpaccio with local mushrooms; unbelievably delicious. Then a fantastic, perfectly grilled gigantic steak. We ate a lot of steak in the area, but this one was truly one of the highlights. To finish, the house dessert: vanilla ice cream, olive oil, pepper, and liqueur... wow, I have never had such a special yet simple dessert; unbelievably delicious!!! Highly recommended! The very friendly chef also came to the table personally a few times to ask in English if everything was alright. It was more than alright; this is a hidden gem in the forests of Montecatini. We will definitely be back someday.

09/06/2026: We had a delicious meal! Porcini mushrooms as a starter and the Fiorentina as the main course. And then everything was paired with lovely wines: a Vermentino to start and a Chianti with the main course. The dessert was partly prepared at the table. Finally, a delicious amaro!

16/12/2025: Beautiful and well-kept place, we can eat inside and outside, beautiful terrace from which you can see the landscape, excellent place to eat Tuscan food, very good appetizers and very good first and second courses, typical meat and fish dishes, very kind and professional both the staff and the owner as soon as you arrive to order, the staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home and satisfy your requests, clean restrooms, good prices, large parking lot, that's why I gave it 4 stars, I recommend trying the pizzas and the tagliolini with lobster, they are finger-licking good, and the Cinta Senese pork loin with fried patent and fried porcini mushrooms 😋😋😀

04/05/2026: Great food at a great price! We came for lunch. Ask for the menu of the day and you’ll eat very well. And what a beautiful setting, with geese swimming on the lake, fish swimming just under the surface, and a rushing river nearby. The service was quick and our server very friendly, patient and efficient.

04/02/2026: Excellent gluten-free pastry shop. They have a wide selection of both sweet and savory items (which isn't a given) in the center of Monsummano. We live a half-hour drive away, but it's the only place to get a good gluten-free breakfast!!! Very fair prices. They also sell gluten-free bread.

14/02/2026: Wwwooowww!!! A place with an unparalleled view. To say it's wonderful is simply an understatement. Excellent, high-quality food. The menu consists of just a few dishes, but they're executed excellently. We had the steak, which was extraordinary; the mushroom squares with sausage and pumpkin, which I highly recommend; two side dishes, one of which was delicious sautéed vegetables; and finally, a sampling of delicious desserts. I'd say the service was special because the owner is truly a wonderful and kind person, and he's incredibly friendly, and meeting people like that these days is rare. A welcome that embraced me. We promised each other we'd return; we've discovered a place we love.

22/05/2026: This was the most athletic Italian cafe I've been too on my trip. My Italian isn't the best, but the couple who owned the cafe were the nicest people I've ever encountered. The coffee I had there was the cheapest and best-tasting coffee I've ever had. If you're on vacation, come to this cafe, or if you're new to the area, this cafe is the best around. 11/05/2026: Honorable mention goes to the risotto. Amazing. The rest of the dinner was pretty average by comparison. Considering the elegance of the room with its beautiful round tables, it was a shame to dine at a tiny square table with one side propped up against a divider, which didn't even allow for freedom of movement.

08/05/2026: Disappointing experience, an hour and a half wait for a carpaccio and two slices of bread with anchovies. Staff unprepared for requests for vegetables or side dishes. The quality of the dishes served was appreciated, but the service needs improvement.

24/04/2026: Anyone visiting Pistoia should definitely go to La Cantinetta. Everything is perfect: a beautifully curated food and wine list, a cozy atmosphere, and, most importantly, impeccable service. The friendliness and expertise are second to none. The same goes for the food: the risotto was perfect, the filetta di manzo outstanding, and the pizza was also very good. We ate there three times, and it was always incredibly delicious. The value for money is excellent. Many thanks to the staff who made this possible and gave us three wonderful evenings!

14/09/2025: Recently visited this charming little bar located conveniently near the University of Messina. As expected for the area, you'll find plenty of students frequenting this spot, creating a lively academic atmosphere. Space & Seating: The bar is quite compact with limited seating, so if you're planning to visit with a larger group, I'd recommend arriving early or being prepared to wait. During daytime hours, the outdoor seating can get quite sunny, making indoor spots more comfortable. Service & Staff: The service was pleasant, with friendly male and female bartenders who were professional and accommodating throughout my visit. I ordered the Crema di Caffè with Panna, which offered good value for money in terms of both quality and portion size. While it was enjoyable and reasonably priced, I wouldn't say it's the absolute best Crema di Caffè you'll find in Messina – but certainly worth trying. Overall: A decent neighborhood spot that's definitely worth a try if you're walking through this area of Messina. While it has some limitations in terms of space and the sweetness level of certain items, the friendly service and reasonable prices make it a solid choice for a quick coffee break, especially if you're in the university district. Recommended for: Students, coffee lovers, quick stops, solo visits
