08/04/2025: Very friendly service , we enjoyed coffee and croissants there on several mornings on our visit to Lucca. Gorgeous little piazza too.
22/03/2025: You won’t find a more welcoming place. Enjoyed our cappuccino and pastry here every morning of our 2 week stay in Lucca. Carla greeted us each morning as if we had known her a lifetime. Our lunches and dinners were excellent. Miss this lovely spot!

15/01/2025: Terrible in everything, rude staff (the bar boy) as for the food I took a sandwich (old) I threw it away. Never again. It goes without saying that fresh things when they are at least 4 days old.

31/10/2024: Siamo stati al Caffè Monica in occasione del Lucca Comics. Nonostante l’affluenza di persone e il caos abbiamo trovato:
- Ampia scelta gluten free
- Abbondanti taglieri e stuzzichini per l’aperitivo
- Ultima (ma non per importanza) VERONICA è stata gentile, premurosa e professionale! In tutti i locali ci vorrebbe qualcuno come lei!! Datele un aumento perché se lo merita davvero! 😉
Torneremo SICURAMENTE!

- Wide gluten free choice
- Abundant platters and appetizers for the aperitif
- Last (but not least) VERONICA was kind, thoughtful and professional! Every club needs someone like her!! Give her a raise because she really deserves it! 😉

10/11/2024: Excellent pastry shop, terrible welcome, coming from Prato n. 11 cyclists, breakfast with €25 shopping, I asked for a toilet 🚾 the owner tells me that her business is not equipped with that service, but how can that be? 👎👎👎I still don't think it's up to standard, for a business it's mandatory to have toilets.

Visited again with great anticipation.
The waiter recommended the wild boar goulash as a second choice.
Unfortunately, this was already bad and was "saved" by the kitchen with vinegar and olives.
This borders on knowing fraud if not poisoning.
I had 24 hours of terrible pain, heaving and tremendous heartburn.
NEVER AGAIN

05/04/2025: Sono passata di lì incuriosita dal movimento, bar piccolo e vecchio. La macchina del caffè non viene spurgata tra un caffè e l’altro. Ma la cosa più brutta è il bricco del latte sporco e la lancia per montarlo è incrostata. Il mio caffè macchiato era molto molto caldo e dopo quello che ho visto non me la sono sentita di consumarlo.
05/04/2025: Gestione pessima! Peggior cornetto e budino di riso mai mangiati in vita mia!
Sconsigliato nella maniera più assoluta!

Locale carino,dopo aver letto alcune recensioni io e la mia famiglia abhiamo prenotato .Siamo arrivati all'ora di apertura per il pranzo, quindi locale ancora vuoto e abbiamo ordinato subito.... tempo di attesa 1 ora per i
primi: pasta al ragù, arrivata senza ragù, pici con polpo senza pici e il polpo come comparsa e le fettuccine al nero di seppia colorate industriali e immangiabile.
Assolutamente da evitare!!!!
02/11/2024: Ho mangiato la pizza peggiore della mia vita…manca proprio l idea di cosa sia una pizza, vino della casa di bassa qualità, servizio rapido ma non si porta la pizza 15 min prima del secondo di mia moglie . Posto turistico

22/03/2025: Я считаю, что ресторан не плох. Продукты свежие, порции не маленькие, обслуживание вполне быстрое. Пиццу не брали мы, но мы сидели над кухней и видели, как ее готовили - всё по-честному.
09/03/2025: Posizione strategica e bar ben assortito sia per il dolce che per il salato. Peccato per la maleducazione, la signora bionda (circa 60 anni) resta in sala a guardare i clienti con faccia spesso schifata e contrariata qualsiasi cosa si faccia. L ho osservata a lungo e ho pensato “ma se sei così incavolata con la vita perché lavori con il pubblico?”. Clima pesante che si capisce che viene subìto anche dal personale. Peccato perché il bar ha un gran potenziale

02/09/2023: Leone was an emblematic place in Viareggio and I speak in the past tense since unfortunately they have closed it. You paid little, you ate well and it had a strategic location in the heart of the city and above the navigable canal. We need more places like this in Viareggio
