19/07/2026: I have to admit there's some sentiment in this review.
A historic place and a must-visit when we come to Vico where we have a second home. I recommend it especially for an aperitivo, especially for anything else. The prices are fair and the aperitivo is "the old-fashioned way": chips, peanuts, olives, and some flaky pizzas.
Enough with these disgusting aperitivos where they serve you crap.
It's located in a portico where there are other competitors, but in my opinion they're a touch inferior to the Drai, especially when it comes to the aperitivo!
07/06/2026: Nice pastry shop, lots of choice, excellent ice cream, but a bit chaotic, lots of people, long wait, the room inside is not cool, some flies constantly landing on the tables.

15/08/2026: A place in the center of Limone, a dated atmosphere with an undefined style. The service is run by young, perhaps inexperienced (the milk jug was ceramic with a crusty spout), but friendly people. I had two coffees and one of their brioche specials of the week. I found the coffee unsatisfactory, while the specialty—a small lump of rolled pastry with a creamy texture (similar to Nutella)—was out of my league. The prices are high, but given the location, I understand. However, I repeat, the pastry wasn't sellable in my opinion. Considering the €3.50 price tag, I'd say it should be removed from the menu. I don't know if I was just extremely unlucky and the product wasn't up to their standards, but I wouldn't go back to try it out.
13/08/2026: We bought four ice cream cups, which were poor quality and the quantity was meager.
For €3.50 each, it was downright embarrassing.
The staff was slow and incompetent at making ice cream.

15/08/2026: Disorganization and rudeness
My husband and I went today on the 15th of August.
We read the menu outside, but when someone came to ask what we wanted, all the dishes we requested weren't there even though they were clearly on the menu. How can this be explained?
My husband then ordered the ravioli, I wanted a simple salad and a slice of chicken, which were also clearly on the menu but weren't there...
Then he ended up bringing me a simple salad without any dressing, which he then charged me for as a salad. The chicken slice wasn't there, not even the Milanese, which was clearly on the menu.
The fact is, my husband ate the ravioli, which weren't even good, and I ate that salad. Oh... I forgot, I had to go get the condiments and bread myself, which were never brought.
We paid €22 for a plate of ravioli, a salad, a small bottle of water, and a beer.
What can I say???
Never again...
12/08/2026: The two of us arrived around 9 pm. We ordered ravioli, a rib-eye steak, house wine, and coffee. Total: €63. The wine was good, the ravioli were delicious, and the 800-gram rib-eye steak was fabulous. The meat was dry-aged (!), perfectly cooked, red inside but not bleeding, very tender, and flavorful. We'd never been here before, and it was a very pleasant surprise that will soon become one of our favorite places to eat. A little noisy, yes, but nothing major. The service was friendly and pleasant.

05/08/2026: I agree with the rude staff, which I wasn't expecting. They make Izzo coffee, which is supposed to be a distinctive Neapolitan style, but they grind it as if it were for a moka pot, resulting in a watery coffee. Nothing like the real creamy Neapolitan Izzo.
04/07/2026: I don't recommend it. The staff was rude and incompetent. We mentioned a gluten intolerance and the waitress rudely replied, "Oh, I don't know what to tell you."
Two out of four couldn't eat anything except a slice of gluten-free cake we found by looking at the display cases.
We asked for takeout and the waitress was annoyed and said she didn't know if it was possible; she should have asked the owner.
The sandwich I ordered was wrong, and the waitress's response was, "Oh, sorry, I gave the owner the correct order."
Unnecessary rudeness for no reason. The sandwiches weren't good quality, and we paid a lot for two sandwiches, one toasted sandwich with only ham, and one slice of cake.
I advise the owner to invest a little more in staff, and I say this as a bartender, so I know what the job entails.
Go to other, much better bars.

12/02/2025: Locale carino, spazioso e accogliente.
Personale molto gentile e disponibile.
Abbiamo assaggiato lo “scuderia burger” e ci è piaciuto molto. Gli ingredienti sembrano freschi (compreso il pane) ed hanno anche un menù bimbi con diverse scelte.
Consiglio per una pausa pranzo piacevole dopo lo shopping.
09/11/2024: Un lugar muy agradable con buena comida y café! También los dulces y pasteles eran deliciosos! El personal también era muy amable. en complejo tuvimos un buen tiempo!

15/06/2025: Zum 1. Mal in der neuen Osteria delle Aie in Castagnito. Sehr angenehmes Ambiente, freundlicher und flinker Service. Alle aufgetragenen Speisen schmeckten sehr herrlich, aber die hausgemachte Glace aus Aprikosen ist speziell erwähnenswert, so superfein.
Das Haus befindet sich nach wie vor auf einem sehr hohen Niveau zu moderatem Preis.
Gratulation an die freundliche Gastgeberin. Weiterhin viel Erfolg wünschen Urs mit Margrit und Christian

30/12/2024: Il locale è una via di mezzo tra una tabaccheria, un bar ed una tavola calda, piccolo ma piacevole nel suo complesso, con accostamenti rustico antico e moderno a volte un po' stridenti (come i muri in pietre a vista verniciati di bianco...)
C'è posto (non molto) sia nei tavoli classici che ad un bancone con sgabelli.
Menu da trattoria con piatti tipici ma anche aperitivi, taglieri e panini.
Servizio cortese, tovagliette di carta, tempi nella norma.
Abbiamo preso, complessivamente in due, un primo, un secondo, due dolci, un bicchiere di dolcetto ed un'acqua minerale, totale circa 60 euro.
Tutto buono, i dolci in particolare (pere cotte nel vino con gelato alla crema e torta di nocciole con zabaglione) erano spettacolari ed abbondanti.
Unico neo il prezzo: pagare una zuppa di ceci 14 euro ed un'insalata di cappone 18 euro (ci sono stati entrambi proposti come fuori menù, ed ingenuamente non abbiamo chiesto prima il prezzo...), 2 euro e 50 per 1/2 litro di acqua nella bottiglietta di plastica, mi sembra davvero esagerato. (coperto 2.5 euro)
In un posto come questo si va a cercare un pasto veloce ma di qualità ad un prezzo ragionevole, ma alla fine si spende come al ristorante.....
Purtroppo anche qui sulle Langhe "ricche", ovvero nei dintorni di Alba, come in Riviera ligure ed in altre zone dove il turismo ha creato un certo afflusso di visitatori, i prezzi sono saliti notevolmente, a volte in modo non proporzionato al servizio offerto.
Tiro un po' acqua al mio mulino, ma consiglio chi vuole mangiare bene e spendere il giusto di orientarsi verso l'Alta Langa (quella "povera"). Bisogna però affrettarsi, anche qui il vento sta cambiando rapidamente.....
23/11/2024: Abbiamo chiesto disponibilità per uno spuntino veloce e abbiamo atteso 1 ora in piedi . Le focacce e i piatti sono buoni; peccato per le risposte sgarbate dal titolare del tutto gratuite. Se il locale si è ingolfato non è colpa dei clienti ma della tua organizzazione; una maggior serenità ed empatia avrebbe sicuramente lasciato un miglior ricordo. Peccato perché sul territorio abbiamo solo avuto accoglienze fantastiche

20/12/2024: Giardino del Roero" è senza dubbio una delle pizzerie che più merita di essere visitata. La pizza è un vero capolavoro: l’impasto è leggero e digeribile, ma al tempo stesso ricco di sapore.
In aggiunta, il menù offre anche una selezione di antipasti gustosi e piatti tipici, ideali per iniziare il pasto in grande stile. I dolci fatti in casa sono la chiusura perfetta per una cena che sa di autentico e di qualità.
Se siete in zona, "Pizzeria Giardino del Roero" è una tappa obbligata. Una pizzeria che fa della qualità e dell'accoglienza i suoi punti di forza. Non vedo l'ora di tornarci!
