15/02/2026: We spent a weekend at this property. Cleanliness, friendliness, and organization are evident as soon as you enter. The room is large, clean, and tidy, as is the bathroom. Breakfast...well, it's a treat, a special treat reserved for guests. A round of applause for the homemade tart.
Dinner was delicious. The ingredients were top-quality.

19/02/2026: We were welcomed into a small room with a wood-burning fireplace, along with another table. The menu is rich in local flavors, tasty and varied, and includes a fixed tasting menu. In the summer, you can eat outside and sometimes listen to live music. Andrea, the owner, is available to customize special menus for groups upon request. It's located in the quiet Mantua countryside. A must-visit after visiting nearby Sabbioneta.

13/11/2025: While visiting the area we made a reservation via the website and received a message saying they cannot confirm our booking.
I asked if they were open at all they replied that they were but could not confirm the booking. I asked what time they were open until thinking if they couldn’t seat us maybe we could order and take it with us. Being off season there weren’t many vegetarian restaurants open so we were pretty much counting on this one. After asking several times this is the exact answer I received :” I’m sorry, you don’t understand, its not a question of being open or closed, its a question that we cannot confirm your reservation. “
I found this extremely rude and decided head to Verona instead.
Since I can't respond to the response for my review i am updating instead:
I will update that i received your response and i'm sorry but i just can't accept what you are now saying. You could have replied: "sorry we are closed for a private event, would you like to come another time?"

You could have just said there was a private event. I suspect you did not want to host us specifically for some reason..

15/02/2026: A welcoming and authentic restaurant right in the city center, just steps from Piazza Sordello!
Daniele, the owner, shares his passion for Mantua's culinary and winemaking traditions with tasty, hearty dishes and local wines. We had one of his delicious platters as an appetizer, followed by pumpkin tortelli and donkey stew. To finish, we ordered the classic sbrisolona with zabaglione cream. Since we were the last ones in, we had a pleasant chat with Daniele, who kindly offered us a taste of the traditional cream with chocolate cream and zabaglione!
An excellent wine rounded out our experience.
All at a fair price!
We'll definitely be back to try Daniele's risotto alla pilota (reservations required).
14/02/2026: The place is very small, with limited seating. However, the food is very good. We stopped for lunch and sampled some of the traditional dishes. They were delicious, and the portions were generous. The staff was extremely courteous, professional, and quick with their service.

27/08/2025: Everything was so good, I especially recommend the millefeuille, the black coal croissant with berry jam, and especially the lemon cream puff pastry. IT WAS EVERYTHING PERFECT. They also make traditional Mantua desserts.
