28/01/2026: Spectacular dinner! The menu is refined and varied, with interesting and unique dishes (it really stands out compared to other restaurants in the Vibo Valentia area). The cod pinsa and the egg and truffle crostini were truly exceptional! There's a wide selection of wines, especially from the South. Highly recommended for those looking for a different dinner in a welcoming atmosphere. The owner is an excellent host, very kind and knowledgeable about his dishes, and is very willing to adapt them to personal tastes and food intolerances. We'll definitely be back!

The day, spent in the company of my wife and a couple of friends, was made even more special by the enchanting scenery, creating a bright and relaxing atmosphere, ideal for slowly savoring every moment. The service is distinguished by a natural kindness and impeccable professionalism: attentive, meticulous, and elegant, yet never intrusive. Everything is enhanced by a pleasant touch of humor and charm, measured and intelligent, which contributes to a relaxed and authentic atmosphere. The cuisine is the true protagonist: delicate and balanced dishes, crafted around noble, top-quality ingredients. Each course is enhanced by excellent, refined, and harmonious plating, pleasing the eye even before the palate. Also worthy of special mention is the extensive and carefully curated wine cellar, packed with prestigious labels and interesting discoveries, designed to expertly and sensitively complement the dishes, offering pairings worthy of the gastronomic offerings. Overall, a wonderful culinary experience, where the view, service, cuisine, and wine cellar interact in perfect harmony. A lunch that leaves a lasting impression and one I can only recommend to anyone seeking quality, elegance, and a true passion for hospitality.

19/10/2025: “Incipit” is almost a hidden gem, tucked away from the busy High Street and tourist-heavy areas. This spot comes highly recommended by locals — and for good reason. It has a gorgeous outdoor terrace with views over the piazza, but the real wow factor comes when you choose to dine indoors… in the cave! Yes, a beautifully lit, cosy cave with an incredible atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel special. The service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The menu is fantastic, offering a perfect mix of local favourites and creative twists. We went all out and enjoyed the full experience: antipasto, primo, and secondo. The tuna tartare was outstanding, bursting with freshness and flavour. I had the Fileja al ’Nduja ragu, which was absolutely mind-blowing — and high on my Calabria culinary wish list. My partner chose the hazelnut risotto, which was equally exceptional. For mains, I had the pistachio-crusted seabass while my partner had the cod — both dishes beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended if you want an authentic, high-quality dining experience away from the tourist traps. Grazie mille per il fantastico servizio 🙏👌👏

23/10/2025: There were six of us, and we ordered different dishes: some pasta, some pizza, and a cured meats appetizer for everyone. We were very happy, we really had a great time. Highly recommended.

06/12/2025: The day before yesterday, I celebrated my graduation at the Acquarium restaurant in Naples, and it was a wonderful experience. We ate wonderfully: high-quality dishes, perfectly cooked and impeccably presented by the young man who served us. Both the chef Giorgio and the waiter were delightful, professional, and extremely kind. The waiter, in particular, stood out for the care with which he presented each dish, as well as for his truly rare courtesy and politeness. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a wonderful culinary experience accompanied by impeccable service.

21/03/2026: The place absolutely needs improvement because I noticed a lot of neglect. It left me perplexed and unimpressed. The owners and staff were friendly. The dishes were plentiful and decent, but not exceptional for my tastes. For example, the spaghetti wasn't cooked al dente. I would only recommend much, much improvement in quality and atmosphere, including better lighting.

13/03/2026: This is the exact same review from about 4 years ago. The owner lashed out (yes, against it, it's appropriate to say!) against this review, attempting to ridicule an honest, albeit unpleasant, review by addressing them in the most truculent and aggressive terms possible. Today, exactly 3 hours ago, that reply to my review was edited!!! 4 years later, it was edited!!! How come? Why? 4 years later, they come back and remove that vulgar and inappropriate reply, replacing it with a few lines...of contrition!? It smells a bit fishy...it's March and the summer season is starting again! And the reviews, along with the replies, are starting to carry a lot of weight and serve as a good reference for those who come or plan to come to stay in magnificent Tropea. I suspect this (they also edited another reply to a negative review!!) is the result of a commercial strategy that has nothing to do with food and dining. If so, new patrons will be able to verify it. I hope I'm wrong and that things have changed today, for the better (truly better, as a fairytale location like Tropea deserves). I'm confident I'll find myself in Tropea again and will want to try their cuisine again, intellectually honest as ever, ready to retrace my steps (I truly hope so). REVIEW IN MY ORIGINAL AND UNEDITED VERSION FROM 4 YEARS AGO: "Think of the worst and that's half of what will happen to you the moment you unfortunately decide to enter this place! Fresh fish has never been in here! The reason they will repeat to you ad nauseam is that this mysterious artifact must go through a "battitura" process (a term in vogue here to define freezing!). The expert who will administer pearls of scientific-culinary wisdom to you is a certain Mauro, a tall figure with a mellifluous attitude who will try to distract you by serving you 2 plates of "reheated soup" that are at least 1 week old and will make you pay dearly and bitterly. You will be surprised to see that a grilled fish (that's how they call it), will taste like Findus fish fingers and that it will have neither head nor tail... nor fish! If you try to ask for a fish in salt (present on the menu) they will answer which unfortunately wasn't caught either because of the peach ban or, in the case of mussels, because they don't like the method of transporting them from Puglia! When you complain about the supposed quality/freshness of the fish, Mauro will tell you he'll report it to the chef! The chef? If anyone ever sets foot in this little theater! Last piece of advice: if you ever stumble upon this place, always ask the price of off-menu puatti (?) and check the bill (they double-charged the water)! Good luck everyone.
