24/08/2024: The food lived up to expectations. The menu consists of a few dishes and is on a laminated sheet (I would at least improve this aspect). The location is very suggestive but sad to see how a historical heritage has been cannibalized by numerous commercial activities.

14/08/2024: Breakfast without great variety. Poor service with a surcharge due to the unjustified wait for the croissants first and then another wait for the cappuccinos. A glass of orange juice a little expensive.

The room was very good but there was a lot of noise from the manual car wash stations outside, even had one at 4:30am.
Didn’t have an evening meal but the restaurant was full every night with local people.
They advertise a “Very good breakfast”, but it is not even a half decent breakfast, unless you want cake.
No cooked food, plastic ham, plastic cheese, cheap bread, cheap cornflakes, cheap jam and warm milk. OK coffee. Overall the worst Italian breakfast I’ve experienced.
The beer in the bar/cafe at the corner downstairs, is fantastic, as are the snacks/pizzas there. I don’t know if they are part of the hotel.
Good service at reception. Decent price.

23/04/2024: It's the second time I've gone to dine in this place and all the inconveniences of the first have been confirmed so they will never see me again.
99% frozen foods and probably which have not even maintained the cold chain. Dark and cold place. Meat sometimes charred twice out of two. Stale fries, perhaps refried and old oil because all of them are very dark, including the fries. Abnormal quantities of sauces and sauces covering the food. Honestly, nothing is saved except the price, but obviously it is in line with the quality. Twice I went with a group and twice some of us had diarrhea a few hours later. Evidently the reviews are all fake or from friends and relatives. I can't think that everyone is stupid enough to eat terribly and be happy. It was like being in an episode of nightmare kitchens. If you are in the area, go to the Barile pub, at least eat without getting dysentery.

13/11/2023: The least good place we ate in Matera. Poor quality ingredients and cooked too simply. An example? Gummy bran pepper. The waitress was decidedly unwelcoming and had a brusque manner. Exaggerated prices compared to the type of cuisine and the rest of the offer of the Matesni restaurants. Background music more appropriate to a bad bar in Bogota.

25/08/2024: Bad management. Very anxious and pressing elderly cashier-owner. It should absolutely not be in contact with the public. Very high costs for a cone as if I were Maddalena in Sardinia, and of very low quality. To be avoided.
19/08/2024: I'm sorry... negative rating... rude staff at the checkout, normal ice cream and above all at 10pm the cream and other things ran out!!

02/08/2024: Don't go there! Alful food, not great service.
We saw it from tik tok and the high rating and went specially to there to visit it - it said it was opening and 10AM, but it opened at 12... We tried the famous sandwich with special Matera bread - worst spent money in my life... The bread is old, stale and hard, sandwich is almost empty with 1 thin slice of prosciutto( which wasn't even the right type it says on the menu) and it was TOO EXPENSIVE - 12 euro for a peace of stale old toast.... The view really is nice, but the tables and chairs are dirty, old and woody. Just generally a waste of a good location.

01/08/2024: Sono entrata in questo posto dal fascino antico e potente per rifocillarmi in un momento di difficoltà. Ho trovato un'accoglienza e un calore davvero inaspettati e sinceri. Mi sono sentita adottata dai proprietari, che mi hanno riffocillata e accolta come fossi a casa, condividendo con me la storia della loro famiglia e dell'antico monastero di cui sono i custodi da molte generazioni. Luogo incantevole, magico e ricco di storia, nonché di fascino. La bruschetta che ho mangiato era semplice e gustosa, per non parlare del caffè fatto con la moca..proprio come a casa😊
Un ringraziamento dal cuore e il desiderio di tornare da chi mi ha aiutata a concludere la mia 3 giorni a Matera raggiungendo la destinazione che desideravo e che ormai credevo di non riuscire a vedere.

11/11/2023: Called at 9.20pm for two takeaway pizzas, arrived at 10.20pm. A margherita with the addition of bresaola they put a broken slice here and there, very questionable mixture

I call to book the pizzas, a girl answers me saying to come at 9, everything is normal, I arrive and wait...I wait...and I wait again, 40 MINUTES and they hadn't even put the pizzas in the oven. And what's more, they delivered the pizzas first to people who arrived after me who hadn't even booked! I understand that they may have had a mess, but when the pizzas were delivered they didn't even apologize. BAD

05/08/2024: Magnificent place, managed with approximation and little professionalism. No comment. Disorganized. Slow in serving the dishes and not paying attention to the needs of the diners. Waiters wandering around at random... shame because the location deserves more. The collection of glass near the tables was then indecent. Throwing glass in the bin while people are having lunch. No comment!
24/07/2024: Expensive for a salad and toast but still good. In my opinion, a tourist trap because 7 Euros of service fees per place

18/06/2024: Alle 10 di mattina del 14-06-24 abbiamo iniziano il nostro itinerario di visita ai Sassi di Matera e a fine giornata ci siamo concessi una pausa in questo bar posto nella bellissima Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Ci sentiamo di dire che il giovanotto di turno è stato molto attento alla pulizia del tavolo perchè, appena si erano alzati altri clienti, subito è accorso a pulire con lo sgrassatore/disinfettante o simili. Non è una sorpresa, ma abbiamo visto scene diverse in altri locali precedenti cioè che per pulire buttavano le briciole a terra ecc e passavano un semplice panno umido sul tavolo e basta. Abbiamo chiesto un gelato e ci siamo accontentati dei pochi gusti che aveva ma è risultato accettabile. 2 gelati in coppetta e 2 bicchieri d'acqua, 8 euro. Ovviamente la location è nel cuore del centro storico e nella piazza più importante di Matera e il prezzo ci sta tutto. Consigliato.

scolastica con gruppo di minori di 13 anni.Nonostante fosse stata effettuata piu' di una consumazione,fra l' altro senza rilasciare scontrino fiscale, per l' uso del bagno il personale si è mostrato scortese, razzista, offensivo, litigioso. Pessimo sotto ogni punto di vista.
