I only ordered drinks and didn't eat. The waitress was quite friendly. The restaurant is near the entrance to the Rock Church hill, and the view is nice.

Very good coffee. The staff was very helpful when I asked for directions to the Sassi, as I'd just arrived in Matera and was a bit disoriented.

Great place! The service was very friendly and competent, and the view was wonderful! The food was delicious, the prices were really moderate and not too high, so everyone will find something for themselves. There are also vegetarian options. Great place! I recommend it to anyone visiting Sassi.

The café is in a lovely location and the seating is very pleasant. Unfortunately, the food is rather uninspired and far too expensive. We paid 8 euros for a small bowl of soup.

A truly enchanting location, perfect for a break or an aperitif overlooking the characteristic cave dwellings. A welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and well-crafted cocktails. An ideal place to unwind after a stroll through the Sassi. Recommended!

06/08/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and luckily we didn't see the reviews because we had a wonderful meal and the service was very pleasant. We ordered five different dishes and loved them all! We have no regrets and highly recommend it. The price is indeed a little higher.
06/08/2026: After stumbling on this restaurant in search of something to eat besides Panino and Pizza, we were warmly and genuinely greeted by the host outside the restaurant. He gave us a brilliant summary of the dishes, where we were so enthused hearing about the dishes he would share with his grandmother when he was younger. The Crusco peppers that Matera is known for caught our eye, where the gnocchi he recommended with "poor mans'" sausage was so tasty and flavourful. A must try in my opinion. We also ordered the cannelloni with ricotta and spinach and that was excellent too, a hint of nutmeg I wasn't expecting but was so pleased with - delicious. We also ordered a couple of drinks and a salad. Honestly the best food we've had in Matera (and some of the best in Italy) - so well seasoned and tasty which we've found a little tricky to find elsewhere! Looking forward to returning one day in the future
