18/07/2025: We were there for work, and were welcomed as if we were their grandchildren. The owners, Filippo and Rosaria, are two genuine, hard-working people who do everything they can to make their guests feel welcome and cared for, as do their daughters who help them, who are also tireless. After 15 days, we were sad to leave them; we felt at home. We returned two years later, again for work. The place has been completely renovated, but fortunately the spirit hasn't. I will return as soon as possible, and we will continue to return. Thank you again for everything you have done and continue to do. If you pass through Roseto, you can't miss this place. The cuisine is simple, but very good, and they are always attentive to the customer's needs. A big hug to the whole family.

28/09/2025: Great dining under a beautifully lit tree in a courtyard. The pistachio crusted bream was the best of what we ordered. The beef was too chewy. I would post the tiramisu but it was quickly devoured.

La nostra recente visita al ristorante Bastian Contrario di Andria si è rivelata un'esperienza culinaria indimenticabile, un vero e proprio viaggio nel cuore della tradizione pugliese. Fin dal nostro arrivo, la cordialità squisita del titolare ci ha fatto sentire subito a casa, preludio a un pranzo che ha deliziato ogni nostro senso.
Gli antipasti sono stati una vera apoteosi di sapori locali: dalla fragrante focaccia alla cremosa burrata, passando per un delizioso gateau. Le proposte di mare, con il polpo tenero e il salmone fresco, hanno stuzzicato il nostro palato in modo superbo. Ma non è finita qui! Abbiamo poi assaporato degli ottimi assaggi di vitello saporito e melanzane preparate con maestria, un vero omaggio alla ricchezza del territorio.
Il culmine è stato raggiunto con le orecchiette alle cime di rapa, un piatto che definire "una poesia" non rende appieno la sua bontà. La pasta fatta in casa, condita con la sapidità delle cime di rapa e un filo d'olio extravergine, era semplicemente perfetta.
A coronare il tutto, l'ottimo servizio, attento e mai invadente, ha contribuito a rendere l'atmosfera ancora più piacevole. E la sorpresa finale? Un conto con prezzi super onesti che ci ha lasciato ancora più soddisfatti.
Il Bastian Contrario non è solo un ristorante, ma un luogo dove la passione per la buona cucina si sposa con l'accoglienza più autentica. Se vi trovate ad Andria, una tappa qui è assolutamente d'obbligo!

Our recent visit to the Bastian Contrario restaurant in Andria proved to be an unforgettable culinary experience, a true journey into the heart of Apulian tradition. From the moment we arrived, the exquisite friendliness of the owner made us immediately feel at home, a prelude to a lunch that delighted our every sense.
The starters were a true apotheosis of local flavours: from the fragrant focaccia to the creamy burrata, passing through a delicious gateau. The seafood offerings, with tender octopus and fresh salmon, whetted our palate superbly. But it doesn't end here! We then enjoyed excellent samples of tasty veal and aubergines prepared with skill, a true homage to the richness of the area.
The culmination was reached with the orecchiette with turnip greens, a dish that to define as "a poem" does not fully convey its goodness. The homemade pasta, seasoned with the flavor of turnip greens and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, was simply perfect.
To top it all off, the excellent service, attentive and never intrusive, contributed to making the atmosphere even more pleasant. And the final surprise? An account with super honest prices that left us even more satisfied.
Bastian Contrario is not just a restaurant, but a place where the passion for good food combines with the most authentic hospitality. If you find yourself in Andria, a stop here is absolutely a must!

Take the bus and 10 minutes later you'll be in the center of the old town.

05/09/2025: We returned after a while... the staff was always very friendly, professional... waiting... helpful... Alessandro's smile was contagious... we regret not mentioning the names of the other receptionists... however, our total respect and thanks go to them... any problems that arise are all resolved... a round of applause goes to the cleaning staff and the staff who welcome us in the morning for breakfast... the hotel is in a strategic location... close to the ring road... close to the center... nearby there are department stores... Eurospin... Lidel... Terranova... Tigotà... a hotel that offers all the comforts... parking... and restaurant service.... a great place... we are happy to be back... we greet you all with warmth and respect.... Daniela and Giuseppe

04/10/2025: A wonderful evening at Dimora Sovrana with my friends. We were greeted with warmth and professionalism by Antonello, the owners' son. He made recommendations based on our wishes.
Excellent food, a tasty slice of steak served on a soapstone grill accompanied by a crispy and tasty ciccio. The selection of homemade desserts was also excellent. What can I say? We can't wait to return and bring more friends. 🤩🤩
07/09/2025: Gorgeous place, surrounded by greenery. Very friendly staff and excellent cocktails. You can also ask for off-menu items. I hate to give the atmosphere three stars, which is one of the strong points, but the DJ set on Saturday is unbearable. The music is unnecessarily loud; you have to shout to have a conversation. No one dances, so I don't understand the point of turning the volume so high. Annoying. I hope this advice is taken into account; just a little lower.

28/08/2025: A place that immediately wins you over: delicious food, friendly and always smiling staff, and a light-hearted atmosphere that makes you feel on vacation even though you're at home. Not only do you eat well here, you feel truly at home: you laugh, chat, and relax.
It's truly one of those restaurants that makes you say, "Okay, I absolutely have to go back!"
26/08/2025: A pleasant restaurant where you can also eat outside. The pizza is good, wood-fired and with unique flavors.
The wait is reasonable and the service is courteous.
Updated 2025. I confirm, in fact, it's improved.

Sirvieron un plato antes que todos los demás, luego sirvieron a otras tres personas y se olvidaron de un plato más. A la hora de pagar (les he pedido que cancelen el plato restante) , me pidieron que fuera al mostrador y esperara allí unos minutos antes de que alguien se fijara en mí.
Y por supuesto que me cobraron 6 € por el servicio.
20/04/2025: Abbiamo deciso di fare un aperitivo classico da dividere in due perché non avevamo molta fame. Veramente terribile il servizio perché abbiamo aspettato 20 minuti per niente. Questo perché non avevamo fame e il cameriere ci ha detto che non potevamo prendere solo un aperitivo e una bottiglia di acqua.

21/09/2025: We visited a beachside bar in Italy as a group of six gay friends, and unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. When we ordered tequila with salt and lime, the waiter realized we were gay and made a rather offensive remark, saying that “salt and lime is a lady’s thing, not for men.” He then refused to bring the accompaniments we asked for.
This kind of attitude is unacceptable and shows a level of prejudice we did not expect to encounter. So here’s a heads-up to other LGBTQIA+ customers looking for a welcoming environment: sadly, this place did not treat us with the respect everyone deserves.
14/09/2025: We used the beach resort in mid-September. (I mention this because it's the best time to enjoy it, being low season and with a reasonable number of people.) 1 umbrella and 2 loungers are €20 or €30 depending on the row. In the front row, sun loungers are available, with sun loungers costing €40. A lounger alone is €5. The resort is new and beautiful, located in a charming bay. The food isn't particularly good, but it's still larger than average for the area, with generous portions and reasonable prices (pucce, frise, salads, burgers, etc., even vegetarian options are €10-12). The food service could be improved, but the quality is good. There's a free beach to the right and left of the resort. Guests have the unfortunate habit of walking between the beach umbrellas to use the resort's amenities, thus creating a lot of traffic. The cleanliness of the facilities—bathrooms, showers, etc.—leaves a lot to be desired, but at least they don't charge you for using them (a practice I've seen elsewhere, despite having used the umbrella and restaurant). The place is truly splendid, well-served, and offers car parking for €5 per day.
