28/01/2024: Excellent restaurant, the location is very beautiful and well looked after. Excellent food and very well presented.

24/01/2024: The venue is beautiful. The food is good, but not excellent (so the prices are perhaps a little high). The service was cold and lacked a bit of attention (we took the menu and the waitress left the plates for us without a word, when it was time to pay we had to go to the kitchen because no one had been there for more than 10 minutes in the room). Plus they put us at a table at the back of a completely empty room.

07/12/2024: Terrible evening experience with DJ, incompetent and extremely rude staff.

06/10/2024: Elegant venue and well-kept adjoining gardens. At the back there is also a vegetable garden whose fruits, I presume, are used for cooking. The cuisine is very good. The staff is professional and friendly.

13/01/2025: Storico locale ubicato nella piazza di Moncalvo; costante nel tempo la qualità della cucina saldamente orientata alla tradizione monferrina. La carta contempla numerose proposte tra le quali il famoso bollito di Moncalvo.

15/02/2025: Valentine's evening with good expectations, but not to be repeated... The room with fireplace was very nice, we were in the living room which looked like a warehouse, even though we had asked to stay in that room. Table set with glasses for cocktail water, without a minimum of atmosphere... even a heart-shaped chocolate would have been appreciated... We hoped at least on the menu... some items on the menu were not served as written... the first appetizer was cupid salad... it had nothing of cupid, it was just salad, cold cuts mixed with pineapple, there was only a slice of raw salami and one of cooked salami... heart of raw meat with truffle... obviously the truffle wasn't there, but no one expects the truffle flakes... but the oil is... The first ones were good but here too the panzerotti with truffles, the agnolotti with butter arrived, the second one was good but we asked if we could have another taste and the answer was that everything was counted... But not even in a €20/25 restaurant have we experienced such poor service. We had good memories of this place, but we were disappointed.

19/01/2025: We don’t know about the food, or the drinks. The reason is the owner / business manager. He was unbelievably rude. The place was totally empty (at lunch time), but for him that was a problem that guests are arrived…

12/01/2025: Occasione? Il Gran Balon. Affamati girellavamo in cerca di cibo. Trovato per caso. C era la criticità per affollamento di clienti. Pensavamo di dover aspettare parecchio. Invece con cortesia e gentilezza (ed un bel sorriso) ci hanno dato un tavolo e fatti accomodare in poco tempo. Locale : 7 >simpatico, buona impressione, tavoli grandezza q.b., per occasione era affollato e noi non si aveva prenotazioni. Accoglienza e servizio: 8 - >spigliati, propositivi, veloci (nonostante affollamento,) menù : 9 -> originale, vario, multietnico, interessante (brava la chef a servire velocemente tutti i piatti in menu con presentazione accattivante) il must: credo fosse uno dei titolari, francese,simpatico, ironico,preparato, ottima gestione del personale. Al termine , al momento del pagamento c era un altra persona gentile molto disponibile che ha accettato ogni forma di pagamento. Insomma oltre ai giovani camerieri veloci gentili e bravi , c era anche una presenza di Seniors molto interessanti per professionalità e cortesia. Gran bel locale dove regnano qualità e cortesia. Ci torneremo. Voto complessivo: 9 !

02/03/2025: During a stay in Claviere around 3pm I come across the shop window and through the glass I see a beautiful environment and the tables set. I find the prices displayed a little expensive, but I imagine it might be worth it. So I visit the restaurant's website, where it insistently offers me to book online. I convince myself, fill in and send the request correctly. I received the booking confirmation via email. I show up at the agreed time and find it closed. I can only add: even leaving aside the laziness and lack of professionalism, why the hell did they leave the tables set?

20/01/2025: The restaurant attracted us because it seemed high quality and we decided to try it. Upon entering you already have a different feeling because the room is nice (even though we had a place next to a fridge for drinks and in such a large place it's not clear why it would be appropriate to put a fridge near the tables) but there is a dark and unused part (perhaps the hotel breakfast room?). The menu is rather limited. However, both the veal with tuna sauce and the mixed boiled meat are good, and the sliced ​​meat is also good. The wine list is completely inadequate for the type of structure (only one prosecco and not of excellent quality). Of the dining room staff, only one very knowledgeable young waiter survived who explained the dishes to us and was able to give useful information, the other two not suitable for the type of structure. We expected a lot but were very disappointed

13/10/2024: Coffee stop (very good) before going up to Mottarone!! Fast and very courteous service.....very clean bathrooms!!!

15/09/2024: Nice and quite quiet, good service even if the prices are a bit excessive, in my opinion.

18/03/2025: The cashier didn't give the correct change. We waited an hour at the table for the order plus I had to get up to call the waiter. Sunday ruined.

16/03/2025: Much appreciated and well looked after place, intimate atmosphere. Excellent service (Daniela top super helpful). The farinata and the pizza were normal... perhaps the place also raises the expectations a bit on the food
