Sotto Zero
Valtournenche
03/04/2026: Nice organic pizza concept but food was bland, waiters were rude. Better pizza and hospitality (even when busy) in the family run Italian up the road.
21/03/2026: Pizza so good my wife is making me wait till it opens so she can have the pizza with salmon again. She had it two days ago

Le Thovex Restaurant
La thuile
07/01/2026: A truly positive experience. We were warmly welcomed by the owner couple, who are truly kind, helpful, and attentive.
The breakfast is simple but offers little homemade gems, like their wonderful yogurt, which is truly special.
The rooms are comfortable and well-kept.
The only small flaw is the location, a bit uphill from the center of La Thuile, but this is easily solved thanks to the shuttle service that passes very close by and is really convenient.

Le Bistrot de l'Abbe'
Valtournenche
06/04/2026: I ate the lasagne and got food poisoning. It ruined my entire trip. The waiter was also inappropriate.
Would not recommend…
21/03/2026: Great place, good food and good service. The place is cramped and intimate, a real authentic Italian experience!

Ristorante L'Essentiel da Andreone
Ayas
07/03/2026: We recently ate at L’essentiel and the food was delicious including the trout starte, onion soup etc. all exceptional. But more importantly, the management and personnel are accommodating and so thoughtful. They had steak off the menu and it had finished so they promised to order some for us on our next visit. Truly caring. We highly recommend
06/03/2026: Whatever you do don’t eat at this restaurant. They serve uncooked pork. We sent it out twice showing them that the meat was cold and uncooked without any improvement. Then we finally gave up and asked for the bill and they charged us full price…..

Aria
Courmayeur
12/03/2026: As a Chinese American traveling with my husband, a white American, I approached our dinner at Aria in Courmayeur with high expectations. After a week in town filled with warm hospitality, attentive service, and memorable meals, this was the one evening that left me unsettled.
Following a long day on the slopes, we arrived looking forward to a relaxed dinner. The menu was presented in both Italian and English, and we ordered two primi—a mushroom risotto and gnocchi—along with a single secondo to share. Based on the English description, we chose what seemed like a straightforward dish: a beef fillet with potatoes. The meal began pleasantly enough with an amuse-bouche of a fried olive stuffed with meat, a thoughtful and flavorful opening.
Initially, I opted not to order wine in hopes of sleeping better after skiing, though midway through the meal I changed my mind and requested the wine list. Unfortunately, it never arrived. Given the late hour—around 9 p.m., near closing—we assumed the staff was simply busy and let it go.
The gnocchi and risotto arrived and were quite good. However, by this point our table had run out of the water we’d ordered. We asked for more, yet while other tables seemed to receive prompt refills and attentive service, our request went unanswered.
The real confusion came with the secondo. When it arrived, it was clearly not what we expected: a piece of fish resting on a red sauce—no beef, no potatoes. We tried to clarify with the server and asked to see the menu again. The version brought to us looked different from the one we had ordered from; the English description no longer mentioned beef, though it still used the word “fillet.” When I explained that we had ordered “beef,” the server curtly responded, “pig.” The exchange went nowhere, and my husband suggested we simply move on rather than argue. We ended up eating the fish we hadn’t intended to order.
By then, the atmosphere at the table had shifted. Small details compounded the frustration: when the shared secondo arrived, we were given three knives and only one fork. No one noticed or corrected it.
At that point, my mood had soured completely. I left the table while my husband settled the bill.
To be clear, there was no explicit comment or action that could be labeled as racist. Yet the contrast in attentiveness between our table and others was difficult to ignore. Throughout our time in Courmayeur, we encountered language barriers in several places—restaurants, bars, even brief street interactions—but those moments were consistently met with patience and kindness. Here, the experience felt markedly different: distant, dismissive, and oddly unwelcoming.
Whether the issue stemmed from miscommunication, assumptions about American tourists, or the fact that we hadn’t ordered an expensive bottle of wine at the outset, the end result was the same. For visitors—particularly Americans or travelers of color—who simply want a respectful dining experience and to receive what they ordered, Aria may not deliver the warmth that Courmayeur otherwise offers in abundance.
08/03/2026: Excellent place for dinner. I had the best fondue of my life here, honestly!
Their salted caramel gelato was phenomenal!! The rice, unfortunately, wasn't cooked very well, but the flavors were delicious. They're very careful about gluten-free options! The girl who served us (a brunette with bangs) was amazing! Really nice and friendly!
I'll definitely be back! And I highly recommend it!

Pizzeria ristorante La Boite
Courmayeur
03/04/2026: Friendly and helpful staff, always good food...you can never go wrong
19/03/2026: This place was recommended by friends. The owners are kind and friendly, the food is excellent, both pizza and the set menu. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable considering we're in Courmayeur (we had two lunches and one dinner). We'll definitely be back.

Le Vieux Pommier Hotel
Courmayeur
03/04/2026: Always a pleasure to eat at Le Vieux Pommier.
Delicious tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and, to finish on a high note, an excellent caramel panna cotta.
Welcoming and efficient staff.

Grivola
Valtournenche
02/01/2026: Stayed for a week and as a 193 cm long man the beds are too small. My feet would dangle off the edge of the bed at my calves. On top of this the beds and pillows are incredibly hard and uncomfortable. The room overall looks nice but is a bit worn. The restaurant is not great when it comes to service 3/6 times they forgot our order, spent an average of 1.5 hours waiting for food, no form of compensation. Food is of good quality though and was included in our package (maybe this is why we were set aside/unprioritized) location is 10/10 right by ski lifts. Sauna/spa area is ok
Update: Recieved a very nice pillow and regrets for our experience, i would like to emphasize that the staff have all been extremely friendly and accommodating
11/12/2025: Excellent hotel, not exactly a 4-star, excellent food, 50 meters from the ski slopes. Highly recommended.

Morgenrot
I piatti creati fanno vivere autentiche emozioni!
Le materie prime di ottima qualità, i sapori autentici ed i dettagli esposti dalla signora Luciana nel racconto degli ingredienti valgono il viaggio per giungere sin qui!!!
👏👏👏🥂
29/03/2025: Lovely staff, good seating both in and outdoors, we went on a recommendation and were very glad, then went back again another day. Excellent grilled vegetables with local cheese and polenta dish.
