29/05/2026: Wonderful food and great service in a great location

26/05/2026: I went for lunch today, my first visit to Vigevano. I stopped in the beautiful Piazza Ducale for a quick lunch and, after searching for the restaurant that I liked the most, I chose Rinascimento: both for the menu, which I found very inspiring, and for the friendliness of the waiter who served me, Aquila. I started with a small aperitif at 11:30, since the kitchen was still closed, accompanied by a glass of Franciacorta. Next, I chose an appetizer of mixed seafood crudités. For my entrée, I received a shrimp wrapped in kataifi pastry on a bed of red onions: truly delicious and carefully prepared. Next came the fish appetizer, and to finish, a cool and refreshing sorbet, perfect for today's scorching hot day (37 degrees!). It was a truly pleasant lunch break, not only for the location and the quality of the food, but also for the kindness and professionalism of Aquila and his colleagues. As soon as I have the chance, I will definitely come back!

12/08/2026: A couple's lunch after a short stroll through the streets of Vigevano. The restaurant is elegant and informal. The staff serving us was attentive and friendly. Let's get to what we tasted: we both had an appetizer, a terrine of foie gras with brioche bread and red onion jam. A delicious dish in its simplicity. To follow, a confit goose leg with potatoes and spiced apple puree, and a goose cured meat platter that included cooked and raw goose salami, raw goose ham, and foie gras bread. Choosing this dish might seem like a repeat after the appetizer, but given its variety, it was a pleasant choice. My husband definitely enjoyed the leg. We washed it all down with microfiltered water and a bottle of Barbera, served at the perfect temperature and at a very reasonable price. Two espressos (really well-made) to finish. What more can we say? We'll definitely be back to try other options because we were truly satisfied with our visit. See you next time. T&F

30/07/2026: I stopped for lunch here during my visit to Vigevano, but the experience left me a bit torn. The dishes were good and carefully prepared, but overall the value for money wasn't convincing. The restaurant is very informal, and the location is unremarkable, although the prices are slightly higher than you might expect from the outside. At this point, I would probably have preferred to eat right in Piazza Ducale. The service was average. The biggest disappointment was the goose leg: despite being the second most expensive item on the menu (€26), the portion was quite small, and the side dish was also very poor. Considering the price, I would have expected a much more generous dish. Overall, the food is good, but the location, portions, and value for money didn't entirely convince me.

24/08/2026: I find the policy of imposing a Roman-style bill absolutely unfair. If a group of people order dishes and drinks that are significantly more expensive than a pizza, I don't think it's fair that they should pay the same amount as everyone else, ending up spending up to three times what they would have consumed. The bill should be handled fairly, especially when the differences in orders are so obvious. I personally find this policy lacking in transparency and it makes me rate the experience negatively.

18/08/2026: We happened upon a "special" evening, when the wait was longer than usual, but the staff was always super courteous, helpful, and kind despite the hectic times, and everything we ate was delicious and of the highest quality. A truly excellent dinner, as always!
