Vasco Da Gama In Brescia

It's impossible to stroll around the city center and not be struck by the charm of this place. We decide to stop. After sitting us down, they bring us the menu. From there on, it's a total debacle. Not because of the food, which is truly excellent, but because of the management, which I would describe as "not particularly organized." After a half-hour wait, they finally take our order and apologize for the wait. After another 30 minutes, they bring us the wine we ordered, saying they'd bring the ice bucket right away. They return after 15 minutes... Finally, the food begins to arrive: Everything is excellent! Naturally, we forgo dessert and liqueur to avoid another hour of waiting and head straight to the cash register, where we find a girl asking for the menu. They reply, "We'll bring it to you," and the girl replies, "We're in a hurry, we can't wait another hour." Therefore, this restaurant is highly recommended only to those who aren't in the slightest hurry and who know how to avoid getting "tangled up" over some "poor service."

We enjoyed dinner on the patio. The service was great,food was excellent, nice ambiance! The staff was amazing and helped us with choosing the wines for our meal.

The restaurant, located behind Piazza della Loggia, is unique because it resembles a dark medieval inn. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The menu is varied, aiming to accommodate as many customers as possible. We chose a single dish of casoncelli and stew with polenta, and macaroni and eggplant, plus a portion of baked potatoes and a bottle of water. All the food was forgettable, lacking emotion or personality. The pasta was completely overcooked, the casoncelli in the single dish were unremarkable, and the stew was fine, but nothing special. It's a place to fill your stomach. About €46 for two people. A place for tourists who aren't looking for quality.

Highly recommended for tourists visiting Brescia. The food is excellent, served at the base of a tower dating back to 1200. It's well worth a visit to sample their dishes.

Very good restaurant, but the portions are rather small for the pasta dishes (the only ones we tried), so budget for a starter or dessert. Otherwise, the pasta was very good! Service in Italy is still quite unusual; the manager is always standing around doing nothing and just gestures to the kitchen staff to clear tables, etc. Clearly, he can't do it himself.

This place was recommended by a local. The place is really cool. I don’t recommend the salads for starters, they are big to share but nothing special. Homemade pastas are good, the meat plates are also good but the meat was too cooked (really good potatoes). Nice wine and the best of the meal was the desserts! Best tiramisu that we had in Italy (different from the standard recipe) and the chocolate cake (similar to a petit gateau) was really really good!

A charming restaurant in the heart of Brescia with antique features. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is traditional Brescian, well-prepared and delicious.
