Exceptional evening. Orecchiette with sensational simple chop, after tripe alla locorotondese. washed down with an excellent Salice Salentino Pezzo Morgana! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Having happened by chance, first time visiting Locorotondo, a delightful town, we end up in this restaurant for dinner. Courtesy, friendliness and above all...THE FOOD! .. they welcome us and surprise us. Some photos... everything was delicious! Advise!!!

The place is fancy and clean. The food is sumptuous and delicious. The staff were really friendly and they speak English too!!! While waiting for the food, they served so much appetizers.

Lunch at U Curdunn was an amazing experience. We were greeted by friendly staff at the entrance. For starters, apart from bread and water, they serve a bowl of fresh local vegetables: fanclub, cucumbers, carrots, radishes. For those who want to avoid the so-called glucose spikes - a blessing before tasting pasta 😊 For an appetizer, we ordered parmigiana (one of the tastiest I've ever eaten - I almost didn't have time to take a photo). The rabbit and mussels and white bean paste were also outstanding! Plus local wine! I recommend.

L'ambientazione di questo ristorante è molto interessante. Mise en place di sicura suggestione, familiare, calda accogliente. Bicchieri da vino serigrafati col nome del locale. Ci siamo stati per una cena in cui abbiamo riunito distanze geografiche e temporali. Crudite' eccellente. Primi gradevoli. Arrosto misto? Bruciacchiato, gustoso ma non molto presentabile. Attenzione perché l'arrosto misto è il piatto forte del territorio, qua non si può sbagliare. Cantina a vista molto vasta, completa, esaustiva. Involtini di trippa da consigliare sicuramente.

U Curdunn betekent Locorotondo in het plaatselijk Italiaans dialect. Midden in het oude stadscentrum, in kleine smalle straatjes gelegen. Een idyllisch restaurant met sfeerverlichting en gewelfde geverfde natuurstenen plafonds. Het was gezellig druk met 2 of 3 kelners constant bezig. Wij namen de tijd om de kaart te bestuderen en gonten intussen van een heerlijke betaalbare fles Sellato Primitivo. Uiteindelijk kozen mijn eega fricelli conjulienne di zucchin en tartare noci miele pecorino ruco. Ikzelf cavatelli fagioli cozze en wees naar en vroeg dan wat 'the course of the day 15 €' was. Na enige aarzelling antwoordde de kelnerin 'it is just beaf'. Nu lust ik wel een stukje vlees dus dat werd het. Het voorgerecht was prima, de tartaar smaakte verrukkelijk en ik kreeg me daar een lap vlees op mijn bord wel zeker 500 gr. Perfect gebakken en gekruid en mals als boter. Ik zei gelijk tegen mijn vroeg: dat kan onmogelijk voor 15 € zijn, maar ik liet het me smaken. Uiteraard kreeg ik dat maar voor 3/4 op met moeie. We hadden een geweldig romantische avond tot de rekening kwam. Bleek mijn vleesgerecht niet 15 € maar 35 € te kosten en als costata di manzo aangerekend. Op een totaal van 115 € was 20 € toch al gauw bijna 20%. Ik riep de kelnerin en wees erop dat ik the course of the day besteld had. Ineens verstond heel wat minder engels maar ik bleef er bij. Een aantal mensen passeerden om uitleg en toen ze uiteindelijk begrepen dat de kelnerin mij verkeerd verstaan had, werd de rekening gelijk en zonder probleem gecorrigeerd. Nu dat is klantenservice, zo hoort het. Achteraf had ik eigenlijk moeten voorstellen de 20 € verschil te delen, ik had per slot van rekening veel meer vlees gegeten dan in the course of the day voorzien zou zijn. We hadden verder een heel fijne avond in een heel romantische omgeving.

02/04/2024: Wary about booking in a restaurant on Easter Monday given the negative precedents, I had to change my mind in the experience I had in this place where I found quantity and above all quality which, considering the price paid, is truly excellent.... the menu in question it's €50, where I and another couple of friends (we were 4 adults and 3 children) had a really great lunch... I'm writing this review because lately paying and leaving the table satisfied with what you paid has become really difficult ...my feeling and that of those with me was completely different, we got up from the table fully satisfied... The dishes were as follows: 6 courses of starters (octopus salad, prawns in pink sauce, stuffed mussels, rice, potatoes and mussels, aubergine rolls, fried anchovies) encore of rice, potatoes and mussels and stuffed mussels, 2 first courses as per the menu with the addition of a 3rd first course (offered by the owner), a second course: baked sea bass, sorbet of your choice, lemon or mandarin, fruit: pineapple and mellone, desserts: calciomussi, cannoli, Neapolitan pastiera and other desserts, coffee and bitters; as drinks 5 bottles of red rosé wine, water and unlimited coca cola... For the children, a nice plate of raw ham and mozzarella, a first course of orecchiette and sauce and a second course of potatoes with cutlet (€30)... one of the guests requested a nice plate of raw seafood with the sole addition of €10 ....we didn't pay anything extra... The environment is welcoming as it is located in a quiet area of ​​Mola where there is easy parking, the restaurant seats 70/90 people and is quite comfortable... I would highly recommend this place for the very good quality of the food (which has currently become really difficult), the hospitality of the staff and above all the availability of the same...a heartfelt thanks to the staff of the structure and there will be many other opportunities to frequent this place (thank you very much Giuseppe)!
