We arrived at the Trattoria at 10:00 PM, fresh off the ferry, tired and hungry. We were greeted warmly and seated. A very kind waiter recommended appetizers, which turned out to be delicious, especially the fish fritters. Already satisfied with the appetizers, we asked for just a first course to share. The pasta, spaghetti Aeolian style, was so generous it felt like two plates, and it was also delicious. For dessert, a delicious and very fresh lemon cake. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

Spectacular seafood dishes, the quality is excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. Truly delicious food, with a very competitive price/quality ratio. This restaurant is a must-try at least once in Messina.

Popolo is a restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere. Nothing fancy, very natural, very direct, very nice. They are probably experts in seafood, unfortunately I ordered grilled meatballs with grilled potatoes, don't ask for that, they prepared both as if it was the first attempt. Maybe no one else orders this, because the specialty is “pasta with cuttlefish ink”. But I will definitely come back if I am in Messina again.

Excellent trattoria with typical Sicilian dishes. Freshly prepared, and even when the restaurant was full, you didn't have to wait long for your food. Definitely worth a visit. There were four of us, and we all enjoyed our meals. Highly recommended.

02/05/2026: We decided to book a lunch reservation at this place, and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was superb, and the service was top-notch! Lorella was incredibly kind to us, pampering us right to the end. I've attached a photo, and if you're in the area, you absolutely have to go! P.S. We almost all chose the full menu, which cost 30 euros, and Lorella also gave us some complimentary hazelnut biscuits and a delicious hazelnut liqueur, made by her herself! Highly recommended!
