Romana Bistrot In Altamura

First of all, I'll say right away that the food is good. I was just disappointed that when I booked by phone, I wasn't told that on Sundays there's a mandatory appetizer menu. While they were good, they were too generous, and we didn't get to try the first courses. The tagliatelle al vino primitivo was excellent. I expected more from the iconic carbonara, but it wasn't bad anyway.

A place we always enjoy returning to: the food is truly delicious, the chef is excellent, the table service is attentive and meticulous, and even the restrooms are spotless and accompanied by pleasant, relaxing music. The only drawback: smoking is permitted at the tables outside. Today, unfortunately, we inhaled a lot of secondhand smoke, to the point of being bothersome. We understand there's no law prohibiting it and that the choice is up to the owner, but it would be nice to make a difference in this regard as well. Sensitivity, politeness, and respect for others sometimes seem increasingly rare qualities.

Highly recommended restaurant. Exquisite dishes, excellent Roman cuisine (definitely the best I've tasted so far). Behind these dishes, you can see the care, love, and passion for their work. Congratulations again to the chef (a true Roman) and thanks to the kindness of the girl in the dining room! P.S. Now I'm waiting for the supplì 😁

Beautiful place, very kind and helpful staff, dishes a bit skimpy. I had the gricia with truffle and the bruschetta with prosciutto and truffle, and in both cases, both the flavor and aroma of the truffle cream were absent.
