Ristorante Punta Lena In Lipari

We went for dinner last night. The service was excellent; the waiters were kind, friendly, and attentive. The fish appetizers were delicious (a bit pricey, but in line with the quality of the fish). The grilled fish main course was also very good. It was a shame about the first course and the dessert. The spaghetti with clams was tasteless; perhaps it wasn't mixed well enough, but it tasted like plain spaghetti with clams on the side. It's a shame because the cooking and quality of the spaghetti were excellent. The dessert, on the other hand (a deconstructed cannoli with ricotta, capers, and lemon) was definitely not worth the €12 price tag. It was very stringy, perhaps because of the gelatine, but it wasn't to my liking (perhaps just my personal taste). Overall, it's a restaurant with great potential, and with a few more tweaks to the kitchen, it could be a top-notch restaurant. I would recommend not setting the prices for desserts or side dishes so high. The risk is that it would come across as overly pretentious, setting high expectations that might not be met.

I’m here at Punta Lena once again, and it’s every bit as wonderful as I remember. Authentic in every way, with flavours that truly capture the spirit of Stromboli, it is without doubt the finest place on the island. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is full of charm, and the warm hospitality makes you feel like part of the family. A true gem I’ll always come back to.

Update 2025: The years pass and the quality declines, even as the quality becomes increasingly salty. Pasta "glues" to the table, waiters take your plates but leave the cutlery behind (as if we were in a tavern), and three times we're asked if we want something else (they wanted to close at 11 p.m., it was clear). The cuisine is increasingly less "Aeolian" and increasingly striving for the prestige (useless in the Aeolian Islands) of the famous star. I've been coming here for twenty years, but next year I think I'll skip it. Previous review: 4 stars for the quality of the food and service from ten years ago. This year, I found the prices high for what they offer (though it's still the best option in Stromboli). At least the service was attentive and friendly.

I've been coming to Stromboli for years, and dinner at this restaurant is a must. The location overlooks the sea, and while you eat, you can hear the sound of the waves. The fish is incredibly fresh and of excellent quality. The waiters are attentive and punctual. I love Puntalena restaurant!

Amazing food and wine, great location and loved the view

A Michelin-starred restaurant with a splendid sea view and knowledgeable, friendly staff. The menu is varied, fresh, and delicious. It's a shame the tables are too close together: the chairs end up touching those of other customers. Plus, the €12 desserts really made the final bill soar.

Punta Lena is a place of the spirit. Typical Strombolian house with a breathtaking view of Stromblicchio. The menu is full of continuous innovations and very fresh products. The chef combines tradition, quality, innovation. Some dishes seem to be cooked by a Sicilian grandmother while others instead combine ambitious combinations. Sublime raw fish. Friendly, attentive and pleasant staff. When I return and I hope soon I hope to find a tasting menu

Location fantastica. Freschissimo nonostante l'alta temperatura. Una cena all'insegna dell'alta qualità dei prodotti, eccezionale l'allestimento delle portate nei piatti e porzioni abbondanti. Ve lo consiglio!

Restaurant by the sea, very expensive, dishes not up to the price. Always ask the price of dishes off the menu to avoid embarrassing surprises on the bill. Recommended to enjoy the view with a first course and a glass of wine. Say no more.
