Piedmontese cuisine done right, truly compelling dishes At the Borgo San Giovanni Restaurant, we found cuisine that gets straight to the point and does it well. The Piedmontese antipasto was one of the highlights: balanced, well-prepared, with distinct and recognizable flavors, without that "assembled dish" feeling that unfortunately often occurs. The pâté was remarkable, intense yet delicate, with a perfect consistency and a full, memorable flavor. The Russian salad was also very good, finally delicate, well-structured, and not overpowering, with each ingredient clearly present without overpowering the others. Overall, all the dishes were top-notch: appropriate portions, outstanding ingredients, and a cuisine that focuses on substance rather than showiness—a choice that personally rewards. The atmosphere was refined and relaxing, the service attentive but never intrusive, and the price was fair for what was served. A restaurant where you eat truly well and leave satisfied, feeling like you've chosen the right place.

I had a really good risotto, a fabulous duck, and an amazing dessert. Highly recommended. The wine selection is also excellent.

A really lovely place; this is the place to be if you're staying near Lake Maggiore and want a delicious meal in a non-touristy restaurant with excellent value. The staff is extremely friendly and speaks excellent English. The terrace is wonderfully sheltered next to the Erno River, which you can hear soothingly flowing in the background. Excellent parking is available in the courtyard. Highly recommended!
