16/02/2025: I have been to this place several times, particularly loving the cuisine and tradition of the lower Parma area.....oghi for the 1 time I tried the tasting menu.....all excellent......pity about the 2 matching desserts......a disappointment. I am used to the desserts they normally offer.....pity.. ...a ruined lunch...
15/02/2025: Located under the evocative historic portico of the town square, the Trattoria Leon d'Oro is a place where passion and tradition come together to offer an authentic gastronomic experience.
As soon as you enter, you immediately perceive the welcoming atmosphere, made even more special by the dining room staff, made up of highly experienced ladies who elegantly embody the care, kindness and passion of traditional catering. The service is thoughtful and attentive. Excellent combination of simplicity and professionalism, with the attention to detail typical of a high-level restaurant.
The menu is extensive and strongly linked to local tradition, with typical dishes prepared with quality ingredients and authentic and balanced flavours. A much appreciated detail is the attention of the staff in recommending the best pairings, avoiding combinations that may not best bring out the flavours. The Fortana wine, suggested based on the dish choices, proved to be a perfect choice.
For those who want a complete experience without risking missing out on the restaurant's specialties, two recommended menus are available, with a complete meal (starter, first course, second course and dessert) at a more than fair price, between 30 and 40 euros.
The portions are generous, ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in the flavors of typical cuisine without giving up the satisfaction of a rich meal.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is a perfect combination of the hospitality of an old-time trattoria and the attention of a high-quality restaurant. In addition to the internal tables, it is possible to have lunch or dinner outdoors, enjoying the tranquility of the square. At the entrance, a characteristic tavern-style bar corner welcomes guests.
The service is impeccable, with detailed explanations of the dishes and wines, always with a refined but warm approach.
Pay attention to the times: the kitchen closes at 9pm, so it's best to book and arrive well in advance.
An authentic and refined experience, perfect for those who want to discover the typical Parma cuisine in the best way. Excellent value for money, impeccable service and welcoming atmosphere: a place that is undoubtedly worth a visit.
