16/07/2026: Had a great meal here, but paid a bit more than expected. It was €75 for two people without alcohol. The price was totally fair given how much we ate, and the experience was fantastic. Everything was fresh and delicious, and it made a perfect drop-in lunch, unplanned, no reservation needed. I would definitely make a diversion to eat here, and certainly a special trip if I was staying in the area. There was a seemingly endless procession of courses, as follows:
Fresh ricotta
Bread
Panzanella
Crostini with truffle mayo
Crostini with bean paste
Organic lentil stew (outstanding)
Special house olive oil
Potato and spinach bruscetta
Garden salad
Dressed mozzarella
Half small dressed jacket potato
Scrambled eggs
Stewed sun dried tomatoes
Pappardelle with white ragu (top tier)
13/07/2026: It was 1:30 PM and I was passing through Colfiorito in Foligno. It was a good opportunity to visit a friendly osteria again. Before crossing the threshold, he recognized me, inviting me with "You've been there before." I reassured him with "At least 5 times."
Headed me toward the table, and after 4 seconds, a trio of young waitresses subjected me to a barrage of: ricotta, Colfiorito lentils with local herbs, Colfiorito potatoes, etc.
They fired at me at least 10 times, but I dodged a few because I didn't eat tomato. I was wavering at the fast pace, when the host approached me and told me what else was among the appetizers. I chose the scrambled egg with truffle, then moved on to the tagliatelle with truffle. A huge portion arrived, I ate two-thirds of it, then collapsed and took refuge in a coffee that arrived with a moka pot.
The match ended 4-0 to the restaurant. The World Cup inspired me to write about the lunch, but perhaps you wanted to know if I ate well?
Of course, otherwise I would have cursed them... the food was excellent to good. The atmosphere is very informal, in keeping with the manager.
I can't do everything myself and tell you about the atmosphere, the spirit, the nuances, I don't know what else. Come and enjoy this Mass on your own. I can't make you come with everything pre-digested; you have to discover some things for yourselves! Otherwise, all you'd have to do is show up and pay the bill, and despite the truffle, they won't empty your pockets.
