Ristorante La Prua In Avola

I'd been wanting to try it for a while. I'd heard good things about it, but I have to say I didn't find anything particularly memorable. The menu seems stuck in '90s weddings: shrimp cocktail, octopus salad, swordfish caponata, seafood risotto, smoked salmon... dishes that arrive exactly as you'd expect. The food isn't bad at all, on the contrary. But it lacks that spark, that step towards 2026: something original that makes you choose that dish and makes you want to return because you can't find it anywhere else. It's probably a corporate choice: focusing on reassuring cuisine that guarantees a loyal customer base, accustomed to these flavors, the same ones you can easily find at your local osteria. I'd rather not go into the details of a small incident involving the bill: nothing particularly significant, but I simply hope it will be handled with greater care in the future.

We had an all-fish lunch. The starters, first courses, and desserts were excellent. The grill was delicious. We'll definitely be back to try other menus. Compliments to the staff.

Superlative dinner that exceeded our every expectation! The restaurant is uniquely elegant, the ambiance and decor are meticulously crafted. The dishes are generous and incredibly delicious! I highly recommend trying the raw fish, indescribably delicious...beautiful looking fish with a unique flavor. It was our first time here, and we'll be back with great pleasure. After a couple of years, we returned to dine at this splendid location. The staff were very friendly and professional, and the food was superb! The raw and cooked fish were excellent! A must-try if you're passing through Avola.
