Ristorante Il Mandarino In San lazzaro di savena

It's been a while since I started going to this place, and after trying a lot of Chinese restaurants in bologna this is still my favorite one. The dishes are full of taste, and they keep delicate taste and their lightness. This proves that are made by an expert hand (which is the owner btw 🙂). My favorite dish in this place are the shrimps dumplings, they are marvelous as usually in a lot of other places they are not good but here they are a must try imo. For the first course my to-go are always the rice based plates, they are absolutely perfect here I highly suggest the Cantonese rice with curry. The second course dishes are also a must try here, I definitely suggest the chicken in agro sauce or the meat cooked in curry, onion. The staff is amazing and really friendly. Delicious dishes and just the right portions.

I regret discovering it only a few years ago, even though this management has been in place since 1998. In my opinion, it's the best Chinese restaurant (not fusion) in Bologna and the surrounding area. The dishes are plentiful, with a wide selection, all worth trying, and cooked without leaving any odors in the room. The recently renovated restaurant isn't large, but this also reflects the friendly atmosphere created by Valentina and the entire wait staff. Furthermore, the prices are also reasonable. So, what can I say: try it and believe it. Highly recommended.

A truly charming and clean place; the staff is very busy but friendly; the food is good, but it doesn't make a difference: the spring rolls are only made with cabbage; the grilled shrimp were undercooked and tasted like they were boiled; quite expensive. Perhaps they have other specialties, so I'll go back to see if I'm wrong.

Everything was perfect... the owner is an excellent hostess... she always makes you feel at ease and already knows what you're going to order... when I crave Chinese food... I come here... the only sore point after the renovation of the premises was that the prices have risen quite a bit.

The best Chinese restaurant in the area. I've been coming here for years and the quality is always excellent! They recently renovated the place and did an exceptional job. Kudos to the whole family, who have always been so kind and welcoming. It's a truly wonderful place to stay. 🙏🏻 The meat and shrimp ravioli are amazing, homemade, and always fresh. Superb!

Mandarino is an institution in Bologna; unlike many other Chinese restaurants, they've been around forever. The menu is classic Chinese, adapted a bit to Western tastes (I've been to China and other Chinese restaurants where their authentic cuisine is completely different), but they still offer excellent quality and impeccable service. I highly recommend the Thai chicken (they also have a few Thai dishes) and the crispy duck. The peanut chicken is also excellent. Average price.
