Osteria Fara In Milano

Been traveling in Italy for almost 2 weeks and this was THE BEST meal we have had. Prices are good and the food superb!

I dined at Osteria Fara and had a truly excellent experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, with attention to detail and a pleasant ambiance that immediately made you feel at ease. The staff was friendly, professional, and always available to recommend the best dishes on the menu. The cuisine is excellent: fresh ingredients, meticulous preparation, and generous portions. Each dish was carefully presented, and the flavor exceeded expectations. You could sense the passion for tradition and the sourcing of the finest ingredients. The quality-price ratio was also excellent, considering the level of service and culinary offerings. An ideal place for a romantic dinner or an evening with friends or family. I will definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a restaurant where they can enjoy good food and a pleasant evening. Kudos to the entire staff for their hard work!

Lovely place. We were welcomed with a glass of prosecco. The owner was very kind. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We were also offered limonchello on the house after the meal. We would definitely eat here again on our next trip to Milan

Omg the vitello alla milanesa is delicious! I gained so much pounds in one seating 😂😂 As expected of Italy, their food never disappoints. The place is spacious, it gets really busy for dinner. They have outdoor sitting as well as indoor, two different vibes one restaurant 🤭

I can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s visiting Milano …. This is my 4th visit. Giorgio the owner and host Is charm personified… he even feigned to remember me … It’s great value for money and the food is all you would hope to experience eating Italian cuisine.

We ordered grilled steak and clam pasta. I must say, the steak was cooked to perfection. Perhaps due to the breed of beef, it had less fat and more lean meat, so it wasn't overcooked for the sake of texture. The core of the beef was a perfect pink, which I think is medium rare, and the texture was excellent. What pleased me even more was that no juices or hemoglobin seeped out while slicing the steak; the juices were completely locked within the muscle fibers. The steak wasn't heavily seasoned, just half a lemon and a pinch of salt, and the grilled aroma was ample. It was delicious enough with just balsamic vinegar. The only downside was that the beef cooled down too quickly; it would have been better served hot. The clams in the clam pasta were also very fresh, and the taste was perfect. After eating so many cheesy Italian dishes, a savory clam pasta was exactly what I was looking forward to. The service could be improved. Perhaps because it was 10 PM, every server seemed tired and extremely busy. We waited about ten minutes for dessert and there might have been a slight misunderstanding, but thankfully a Chinese-speaking waitress helped us. On the other hand, they provided two complimentary aperitifs, which was a plus. While the service wasn't particularly enthusiastic, there were no major issues. Overall, I think the quality and quantity of the food were satisfactory, and the price was relatively reasonable. The service could perhaps be improved, but I would highly recommend dining here.

Service was good, we were served welcome drinks of prosecco before we ordered and the bread was served warm! Had sea bass and scampi risotto and both was good. Gets a little crowded later in the night but might be because it is a weekend.

Received racist comments from the server in regards to our culture and I orderes the risotto and it was not appetizing at all, tasted it and definitely was not good. We paid our bill and left, the pizza was good tho. Wished it would’ve been a better experience,

I rarely leave reviews, but Osteria Fara is an outstanding restaurant. We loved it so much we went 2 nights in a row, and not surprisingly another family we recognized the first night came back the 2nd night just like us. The food is THAT GOOD. First, the staff is so charming. Very friendly and they remember you. They offered complimentary prosecco and fresh focaccia fresh out of the oven that was to die for! We’ve had the artichoke salad, tortellini with truffle, paccheri fara (such a unique flavor) swordfish scicilian style, grilled swordfish, and tiramisu. The prices are so reasonable - esp compared to other restaurants next door. I highly recommend it.

An underrated restaurant. On our last day in Milan, we arrived unexpectedly and left with a perfect experience. The aperitif, delicious bread rolls, and seafood pasta for two were better and more flavorful than what we had in Venice. This place deserves a much higher rating!
