A very pleasant surprise. Osteria del Riccio is a place I'd seen while passing by but had never thought to book. The other day, while looking for a restaurant to spend a quiet evening, my boyfriend suggested this osteria, telling me it also had vegetarian dishes (I'm vegan). Browsing the menu, I was very surprised by the choices, simple but not banal. In the end, I ordered a mock carbonara with zucchini and almond cream (really good, a generous portion), two side dishes, and an apple ice cream with calvados, even though the menu also offered a vegan panzanella and seitan strips. I think the choice to include a vegan dish for each course was very smart; I finally felt like I had some solid options. My boyfriend instead chose the cecina sandwich and paccheri del Riccio, and he was also very satisfied. I will definitely be back, since it's close to home, and I'll bring my friends too. The outdoor area is small but well-kept. The nearby railway gives it a romantic feel, in my opinion, and the interior also seems really cozy for the colder seasons. What a gem to discover for us on our trip to Milan starting at the AC Sesto! When I read the glowing review that said it was free of tourists I knew it would be amazing (sorry locals) - and it was! What a charming location nestled in a neighborhood with staff who were surprised, delighted and accommodating when we arrived out of the blue. Tremendous food, wine and desserts - everything 12 out of 5 stars! Grazie mille!!!

A small but welcoming restaurant, the staff was very friendly and professional. The menu offers a simple, high-quality selection, but also includes high-quality vegan and vegetarian options. These aren't unnecessary fillers, but rather complete dishes with their own merits. Highly recommended for all tastes.

We found ourselves in this restaurant by chance before a concert, we saw that on their website they even have a gluten-free menu, excellent service with very kind staff, food with excellent raw materials, I am gluten intolerant and they gave me a "simple" but excellent focaccia, excellent wine, bill in line with what we ate, we will definitely return.

Se volete gustare piatti tradizionali milanesi (e non solo) in un ambiente informale ma autentico, vale la pena di fare pochi chilometri dal centro di Milano per recarvi all'Osteria del Riccio. Non ve ne pentirete.

L'Osteria del Riccio la conosciamo da alcuni anni, grazie al consiglio di un amico. Siamo stati già alcune volte da loro: sempre cene squisite, ospitalità cordiale e accogliente, servizio discreto e rapido, con i tempi della cucina familiare, fatta al momento, menù che spesso variano (anche seguendo le stagioni e i piatti ad esse legati) e ben comunicati a chi è già stato ospitato. Ormai ci consideriamo degli amici del Riccio!🙂

28/07/2025: A table of about 15 people, an incredible dinner, excellent fish, a delicious seafood spaghetti for the starter, shrimp cocktail, sweet sea bass, and so on. I think one of the best seafood restaurants here in Milan! Highly recommended, excellent waiters!
28/07/2025: A happy accident finding Al Puerto, nearly a year ago my father and I had the most amazing dining experience! Turns out, there was a really interesting area near our hotel that had loads of great restaurants called Darsena del Naviglio, the gateway to Naviglio Grande & Naviglio Pavese - two of the five canals of Milan. I set our sites on one destination as we spontaneously chose the first restaurant we encountered: Al Puerto! This was a wonderful chance for dad and I to enjoy some amazing seafood in a creative and traditional fashion. Everything was meticulous, and I’ve never seen waiters work so, so, so hard! We were on a second story mezzanine of the restaurant and every turn of food was brought up and down those stairs. One of the most impressive displays of service I’ve ever seen, hands down! This restaurant puts every waiter in Vegas, NYC, Paris and Rome to shame. This phenomenal dinner is owed mainly in part to our server Luigi (in the photo with my father and I) as he ensured the best service, quality, and flavors in all of Italy. He went above and beyond what I would ask any waiter for, and yet, his service kept surprising my father and I as he also brought out fun treats and special flavors that we wouldn’t even know to ask for. In addition to this, the aesthetic of the restaurant was beautiful, rustic, and thematic from all angles. I wish we didn't eat so quickly so I could've taken better photos, so we will have to return soon! In addition, Signore Cico and Signore Lorenzi were incredible gentlemen of class and passion, both elevating our experience and encapsulating the memories with incredible service, history, information, insight, amicability and quality. This experience is worth passing on to others, even a year later, this was the most memorable dining experience of all Italy and in all my travels. Please keep up the impeccable quality that you bring to the world, it's an honor to dine here! You easily see, smell, and taste every flavor from beginning to end! Go, book a reservation, & explore with an open palate!
