Osteria De Dada' In Spello

Oh well, what can I say...good things come in small packages... A homey and very simple place, but the ingredients and dishes are the heart of the place: authentic Umbrian cuisine, simple yet bold and flavorful!

We ordered the osteria's set menu. The appetizer was generous, and for the main courses, strangozzi alla norcina and tagliatelle with white ragù. I must say everything was excellent, including the quality of the ingredients—the best cured meats I've tasted so far. We'll definitely be back.

An honest trattoria near Spello. Unfortunately, the most interesting items on the menu weren't available when we went. I think this should at least be noted on the outside, given that many tourists seek out truffles. In any case, we ate well. Reservations are recommended, as the place is small. Waiting times for dishes can be lengthy, especially given the limited seating. Fair prices.

Beautiful osteria, good food, and a friendly owner. Affordable prices!

Excellent experience. The cacio e pepe strangozzi and the Norcina strangozzi are spectacular. The mixed cold cuts, cheeses, and battered borage served with crostini is very generous and worth it. The house red wine is good. My only complaint: the place is small and it was quite hot, and I found the wooden chairs a bit uncomfortable, but it's a small thing compared to the deliciousness of the rest. Tip: make a reservation.

A tiny cozy place run by two older women. Down home Italian food at good prices. One of my favorite places.

Really delicious food, highly recommended!

Four of us had dinner last night. I'll start by saying that after numerous calls, I managed to book a table. We arrived 15 minutes late due to difficulty finding parking (I considered calling, but given the difficulty in booking, I avoided it). The lady greeted us in a somewhat sullen manner, annoyed that we were late (we arrived at 9:15 PM), telling us that the kitchen was almost closed. After accepting the shock, we sat down and accepted the fact that there were only a few dishes, but those few dishes were truly sublime. Happy with our choice, I would recommend it to anyone passing through Spello, but remember to be punctual!! On a negative note: the restaurant, which is very small, was very hot inside, even though there were two air conditioners, but they were turned off. All in all, it was a lovely evening.

We ate well; the platter was rich and excellent. The first courses were also delicious.
