It’s not just a slogan. It’s exactly what happens when you enter their home: they open the doors to their home, welcome you with a smile and treat you like family. This is Calvi: warmth, passion, care.
It’s one of those places where you don’t just go to eat well — even if, trust me, you eat like a god — but to live a moment. The place is elegant and welcoming, with large and comfortable spaces. But my favorite corner is near the pass, because from there I can see everything. The kitchen is completely open, a real theater where the show never stops. I could stay there for hours watching how they move, how they take care of every detail… and in fact, every now and then, my wife calls me to order!
Chef Donato is young, but with an edge. He has a head, a heart and a lot of hunger (not just for cooking, but for growing): he studies, travels, puts himself to the test. He never stops. Angelica, on the other hand, is the sommelier you would always like to have at your table: brilliant, very friendly, knowledgeable. She reads inside you and can always recommend the right glass, even if you want to dare with a cocktail or a spirit. In the dining room there is also Domenica, sweet, smiling, who makes you feel immediately at ease.
Their cuisine is lively, contemporary, but rooted in tradition. You can find meat, fish, vegetarian dishes, daily specials, new dishes every season... but always with a clear philosophy: seasonality, respect for the raw materials and zero waste. I have eaten some of the best dishes of my life at their place. And every time it is different, because the menu changes, the inspiration changes... but the quality never changes.
And then there are the leavened products. Bread, focaccia, sandwiches, panettone, brioche: all made by them, with sourdough and selected flours. I often stop by just to get the freshly baked bread, because it is truly special.
I close with desserts and ice creams… which are not just “good”. They are poetry. The ice creams are churned on the spot, the desserts are never banal.
Calvi is not just any restaurant. It is a real experience, made of heart, technique, family and so much beauty. If you have the chance, go there. Let yourself be embraced.

I must admit that I have never been to the Calvi restaurant and it was a truly pleasant discovery, a gastronomic experience that manages to combine elegance and simplicity with great balance.
The cuisine is of the highest level, with attention to the smallest details both in the plating and in the flavors. Each dish tells a story of research and passion, thanks to excellent quality ingredients, fresh and carefully selected. The combinations are refined but never excessive, capable of enhancing the natural flavors without overloading them.
The service is another strong point: friendly, present but never intrusive, with a staff always ready to recommend and explain with competence the dishes and the wines to pair. You feel pampered from start to finish.
The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming, perfect for both a romantic dinner and a lunch with friends. The environment manages to convey serenity, with an attention to detail that is also reflected in the furnishings and background music.
Finally, the quality-price ratio is more than fair. Considering the quality of the ingredients, the mastery of the kitchen and the level of service, the bill is absolutely adequate and well balanced.
In short, Calvi is a restaurant where you gladly return: to eat well, relax and feel welcomed. A round of applause to Donato for his passion. Highly recommended.

High-class dishes and quality food, medium-high prices but absolutely in line with the preparations, a "gem"... ...you don't pay a "cover charge", finally a restaurateur who doesn't apply this "tax" to customers, well done!!!!!!

Entro, anzi, prima premo il pulsante per l'apertura della porta e vengo accolto in modo cortese.
Mi accomodo, la seconda mia visita..., e subito mi sento a mio agio, ambiente rilassato, cucina a vista che denota cura nei dettagli e pulizia, oltre a comprendere chiaramente che quattro persone al di là della cucina possano darmi un prodotto,curato e buono.
Si, certamente tutto questo si verifica, l'attenzione è la cura nei piatti va premiata, la qualità percepita è elevata, pensare di pagare come un'osteria a conduzione famigliare è da ipocriti.
Il valore della ricerca, amo il semplice abbinamento della tartare..., la qualità del prodotto, merita ciò che mi hanno chiesto.

We traveled many kilometers to reach Calvi restaurant and have a different culinary experience. In fact, both my partner and I were positively impressed. Well-kept and elegant location, menu with different proposals. We ordered amberjack meatballs, soft salmon and as first courses we opted for the must from Calvi restaurant. For desserts, a flan and a tiramisu. All very good, high quality. The only flaw, the tiramisu, in my opinion very sweet. However, it is with great regret that we do not express such a positive opinion regarding the quality of the service. In addition to the 40 minute wait to order, various oversights and the difficulty in attracting the attention of the waitresses, one episode left us perplexed. A waitress was asked what the restaurant's desserts were. We were told: "those on the menu". An answer, in our opinion, unprofessional. Overall however, we would like to recommend Calvi restaurant and we will certainly return if we are in the area.

Atmosfera rilassata, velocità lenta , tutto per meglio gustare i piatti del ristorante.
Da una cucina ci si aspetta anche qualche azzardo, qualche nota di diversità che serve per capire, migliorarsi e apprezzare ciò che non si conosce.
Nel limite, questo l'ho trovato, ripeto nel limite di una paca sensazione di maestria che si pone come obiettivo il rispetto e la conoscenza.
Battuta, diversa dal,solito, taglio grossolano con un condimento olio e sale con maionese di lime, direi ottima scelta, uno di quei piatti che ti lasciano un positivo ricordo e la voglia di ritornare. Pasta con pistacchi e pancetta croccante, delicata, per finire un filetto , anche in questo caso, diverso come preparazione, anche se era un semplice pepe verde, preparazione e cottura ottima. La cantina? Ben fornita, il servizio simpatico e attento.
