Super nice staff and typical regional food - recommended!

An enchanting place Three steps, a door and you enter the historical memory of a city as magical as it is ungrateful in remembering what were, for some of us continue to be, moments of authentic sharing. At the end of the nineties in this place which still gathers in rare atmospheres today, trying to resist local ingratitude, and moreover still succeeding well in this aim, in that period dinners were organized with authors, from Stefano Tassinari to Carlo Lucarelli, Massimo Carlotto. And many more names of culture. Exhibitions of young and old local artists were organised. We could smell the traditional flavors for us omnivores, no more menus that are now widespread everywhere. Cappellacci, tagliatelle, salami, pinzino and strictly red wine. To this day it remains the most beautiful venue in the city. To understand and love it you must have had the fortune of inhabiting it and experiencing it then. However, there is always an emotion to experience. The cuisine remains fairly faithful to what it was, the atmosphere of the place is identical. The rest is up to those who decide to enter so as not to be absolutely disappointed. On the contrary! Be faithful to our places and inhabit them with joy.

Suggestive venue, impeccable service, varied menu, excellent dishes, well-stocked cellar. We had a great time. Super recommended.

Tre scalini, una porta ed entri nella memoria storica di una città tanto magica quanto ingrata nel ricordare quelli che sono stati, per qualcuno di noi continuano ad essere, momenti di autentica condivisione. Alla fine degli anni Novanta in questo luogo che si raccoglie in atmosfere rare ancora oggi, cercando di resistere alle ingratitudini locali, e per altro riuscendo ancora bene in questo intento, in quel periodo si organizzavano cene con autori, da Stefano Tassinari a Carlo Lucarelli, Massimo Carlotto. E ancora tanti nomi della cultura. Si organizzavano mostre di giovani e meno giovani artisti locali. Si annusavano i sapori della tradizione per noi onnivori, bando ai menu’ oggi dilaganti in ogni dove. Cappellacci, tagliatelle, salame, pinzino e rigorosamente vino rosso. Ad oggi resta il più bel locale della città. Per comprenderlo e amarlo bisogna avere avuto la fortuna di abitarlo e viverlo allora. Resta comunque una sempre una emozione da provare. La cucina resta abbastanza fedele a ciò che era, l’atmosfera del luogo identica. Il resto spetta a chi decida di entrare per non rimanerne assolutamente deluso. Anzi! Siate fedeli ai nostri luoghi e abitateli con gioia.

A warm and elegant environment in the historic center of the city of Ferrara. Typical Emilian cuisine with high quality ingredients and a large wine cellar. Truly recommended.

Welcoming and evocative place, with a historical and characteristic flavour. My girlfriend and I already knew it but they explained to us that it had just changed management so why not? The staff is friendly and the menu is made up of the right number of quality dishes, typical of local cuisine, with honest prices. I recommend the apple pie and the beef cheek with Sangiovese. I'll be back!

Beautiful place among beautiful historic walls, the food is excellent, I recommend the pumpkin tortelli both with meat sauce and butter and sage

Locale un po' nascosto ma in centro, dall'atmosfera bohemienne con ambienti dalle grandi volte a botte. Nel menù cucina ferrarese e buone bottiglie. Ho preso il pasticcio alla ferrarese, un classico molto particolare ed era eccellente. Servizio professionale e cordiale e rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo. Consigliato!
