Locanda del Carmine In Pavia

I've eaten here twice. The owner is incredibly kind. The food and service are top-notch. They take great care of their customers; my son and I are celiacs, and the attention they paid to us was exceptional. Highly recommended!

For my birthday dinner, we chose Locanda del Carmine. The location is on the charming and central Piazza del Carmine, yet never crowded. The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming, and we sat on the veranda overlooking the square. The staff is friendly, and the service is impeccable. All the dishes were excellent in terms of the quality of the ingredients, the presentation, and the meticulous preparation, and the portions were adequate. The menu also includes vegan/vegetarian dishes. The wine list is impressive, with options from around the world, catering for all tastes and budgets. Note that half bottles are available, although the selection is limited. There's also a spirits list with a wide range of interesting options. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the dishes and the service.

Recommended, the food is good and the dishes are well-prepared. I went for lunch and ordered the set menu... the only flaw I found is that the first course, second course, and side dish all come together in one dish. The intimate setting is very pleasant... a great place to enjoy the dishes in a quiet, private atmosphere.

A delight! We had lunch here. Exceptionally well-made dishes. Skillfully combined flavors, some of which were completely unfamiliar.

La Locanda del Carmine è una sicurezza! Il posto è meraviglioso, con vista sulla storica piazza del Carmine. Ma sono i piatti a renderlo unico! Magici da vedere e da assaporare, con un perfetto equilibrio di sapori. Consigliatissimo!

Excellent restaurant, elegant, with welcoming rooms, good service, perhaps a little too minimal dishes but overall the food is good. I can't say the quality/price ratio because I was invited but I think it's a little above average. I recommend it for a special evening or if you want to invite people of a certain prestige.
