I've been coming to Catania for work for five years, and Taverna del Grande Albero is a regular stop. First of all, I find quality and courtesy here, but above all, I feel like I'm at home. The owners have become like family to me. I GO TO FILIPPO'S, I say every time!!!! Always friendly, always hospitable, they never fail to chat with the customers, and I highly recommend it!! I've attached photos so you can fully understand my satisfaction. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the spectacular seafood appetizer!

Wonderful place! We ordered pasta alla Norma, pasta with pistachios, grilled fish, and salata catanesa. Everything was super delicious. Pleasant service. The coperta came with baked potatoes and local bread, some of the best in Italy!

Had a great meal (spaghetti vongole) and highly recommended! The food was reasonably priced. The rolls that come with the meal are freshly baked and deliciously crispy. My only disappointment was the house white wine. But you can avoid this by ordering other options from the wine list.

15/03/2026: Very professional and attentive service, great wine list, and excellent food. We ate there two evenings. The antipasti platter for two was fantastic.
08/03/2026: Truly excellent trattoria! The staff were welcoming and very kind. We started with an appetizer, recommended for two: authentic flavors reminiscent of traditional recipes, with a truly exquisite parmigiana and broccoli. The pasta was also delicious and generously topped. The dessert was very good! A place where you can enjoy delicious, quality food. Highly recommended! ✨

22/02/2026: Stunning location overlooking the Etna forests. Mount Etna in the background adds an extra touch. The staff is kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Honorable mention for the quality of the food, especially the croquettes, the trofie with pistachio pesto, and the apple cake with orange oil. Highly recommended!
21/02/2026: Excellent restaurant! It perfectly represents the cuisine of eastern Sicily and Etna. Special mention for the charcuterie and cheese platter, with a wide variety of jams to pair with the cheeses. Excellent quality food. Excellent service, excellent chef.
