A Magical Experience It was truly a wonderful evening, a birthday present for my partner, who thoroughly enjoyed it. The venue is incredibly exclusive, located inside a historic Florentine villa, Villa Bardini, which is worth a visit in itself. The service was impeccable: the staff were friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes and describing the wines and their pairings. We chose the "La Via di Mezzo" menu, featuring eight courses with a selection of seven wines. Each course was a discovery, a visual and gustatory experience. Personally, I was struck by the elegance and simplicity of the Beetroot: it was almost a sin to eat it. The Jerusalem Artichoke, Stravecchio, and Coffee Risotto, on the other hand, recalled the latte I drank as a boy before class. Among the desserts, the Brunelleschi Cupola with chocolate, black cherries, and ricotta was a truly delicious treat. The wine pairings were all spot-on; The wines didn't overpower the dishes, but complemented them, enriching the experience. Finally, a wonderful surprise: the view from the villa's terrace of Brunelleschi's Dome and a 200-degree panorama of Florence that rivals even Piazzale Michelangelo. This restaurant has all the credentials for a Michelin star, even if these days it's become a somewhat overused and sometimes "misleading" accolade. Last night, we had a wonderful experience at Chef Filippo Saporito's Leggenda Dei Frati. The venue is simply enchanting, located inside Villa Bardini and boasting a breathtaking view of the city. Hard work, research, and thoughtfulness create a wealth of flavor. The cuisine is deeply rooted in the local area, and the wine selection is the result of long and meticulous dedication. Some courses are already missing as soon as you finish them, but the crescendo of flavors in each dish makes you want to see what else the chef will delight you with. The bread, too, is incredible, masterfully presented in all its forms, creating the perfect pairing with the dishes. The desserts are simply a triumph of flavor. Every detail of the dishes exudes love and care. The service is truly impeccable. An experience truly worth experiencing.

The chicken liver terrine is a refined intensity, the perfectly cooked pigeon enchants from the first bite, the cream of Mazara red shrimp and chickpeas surprises with its balance and delicacy, and the rose-shaped beetroot enchants with its almost ethereal beauty. The desserts are true masterpieces: the sweet reproduction of Brunelleschi's Dome and the miniature of Michelangelo's David transform the dinner into a tribute to the art and history of Florence. The gluten-free menu offers a complete and delicious experience even for those with special dietary needs, with the same care and creativity as the rest of the cuisine. The evening unfolds in an elegant and welcoming atmosphere, with attentive and discreet service that leaves time for contemplation of the panorama. To make everything even more extraordinary, until April 2026, Villa Bardini hosts the exhibition "Oceans" by David Doubilet for National Geographic, which brings the beauty and fragility of the seas before our eyes in breathtaking images, adding a touch of wonder and poetry to the dinner. We visited Leggenda Dei Frati for a dinner featuring products from the Maryamado company, and were truly impressed. The dinner, served in an elegant setting, was a harmonious journey through perfectly crafted flavors. The wine pairings were also excellent, complementing each dish and enhancing their flavors. A complete food and wine experience, where every detail is carefully considered and makes you feel truly pampered, thanks in part to the quality of the service and products. We can't wait to return!

The food is every bit as special as the view and that’s saying a lot! The are twists and combinations in each course and they work! The coffee enhances the risotto, just as bbq sauce brings out the inherent sweetness in the carrots. My favorite dish was the beets, barely cooked, and shaped like a rose. I could have made a whole dinner out of that dish. The presentations are beautiful and the service impeccable. The chef greets each guest and somehow makes it all feel personal. This restaurant has all the mystique and beauty of Florence. Go!
