La Leggenda dei Frati In Firenze

It was delight after delight with the food and the experience at La Leggenda dei Frati. The entire staff made an effort to welcome us and cater to us, from the waiters to the chef. We loved it.

Absurd experience, very fair price

We had a great experience with the 7 course menu. The service was pleasant and we were very well informed and advised on the wines. The three servers were young, which obviously involves some clumsiness which is, however, largely compensated for by their kindness and knowledge of the menu. The dishes are succulent and each table of guests had a different combination of dishes. Despite what I have read in the reviews, we feel that the chef uses local products and recipes which is appreciable and is reflected in the quality of the dishes served. There is something for everyone, but I have trouble understanding reviews that mention one star. We had a great time and would happily return to the Leggenda dei Frati.

A scrumptious meal, great service, stunning view. After a bit of an uphill climb, we enjoyed every bite of the 7 course tasting menu. Each course was well composed, tasty, and beautifully plated. And the dessert was an absolute show stopper. I’m so pleased we chose this restaurant and I will return the next time I’m in Florence. The restaurant was happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences, and offers an entire vegetarian tasting menu. I was surprised to learn that this restaurant no longer has a Michelin star. The service, the execution, the taste all exceeded the offerings I’ve had at other starred restaurants.

We were at the legend of the friars for a special occasion. We had already heard about this place and I must say that it did not disappoint expectations, in fact we were pleasantly struck by the care with which every single dish is made, by the breathtaking location and finally by the kindness and professionalism of the staff in the dining room.

Dall'inizio alla fine sei protagonista assoluto di uno spettacolo eno-gastronomico, votato alla semplicità, all'essenza, alla rivisitazione ed alla riproposizione delle tradizioni territoriali toscane attraverso l'esaltazione della materia prima a km zero. Protagonista non è lo Chef Filippo Saporito, piuttosto che la Chef Ombretta Giovannini o Dario Messina, così come non lo sono il maitre di sala Jenson Joseph o i suoi validissimi collaboratori...protagonisti sono i commensali, che attraverso l'entusiasmo di questo magnifico collettivo di pionieri della Ristorazione vivono lo spettacolo sulla propria "pelle" assaggiando le vere e proprie opere d'arte proposte nel piatto e degustando le proposte al calice in abbinamento. Allora...mettersi comodi e godersi lo spettacolo de "La Leggenda dei Frati".

This restaurant is off the charts, not your typical Italian food found in Florence. The gastronomy concoctions were absolutely marvelous. We chose the seven course chefs selection with the wine pairing, definitely go for the wine pairing as you get a glass of wine with each course that is paired perfectly, red, white, roses, and of course, bubbles. The sommelier is marvelous, so professional, and clearly knows his business. The CO2 cooling of the table side Gazpacho is magical, it also takes the Gazpacho to the perfect temperature. The red shrimp with sauces from Sicily are tender and sweet. There is so much good happening at this restaurant, the quality of food, the service, the attention you get is truly amazing. Your reservation timing is precise so make sure you arrive on time, not too early as there are no other places around to get a drink before hand. This restaurant is up the hill looking over Florence magically. It was raining after our dinner so the restaurant called us a cab to get back down to our hotel, evening was simply enchanting.
