03/12/2024: AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE FROM ALL POINTS OF VIEW
The Le Arcate restaurant was a real surprise! It's true: we arrived on a Monday evening, certainly not the busiest day of the week for a club. And so we had the service and kitchen completely at our disposal... But, beyond the lucky moment for my wife and me, everything we experienced in those hours was truly very beautiful and good.
First of all, a courteous, friendly and always very attentive service. The cuisine is excellent, the dishes are simple but all well executed, with great respect for the raw materials and the cooking methods.
The tartare with black truffle and the fried artichokes in batter are excellent. The first courses were very good: both my wife and I had ravioli with porcini mushrooms, butter and sage with truffle. For the second course, an excellent steak and sardines for my wife. Excellent desserts: the red fruit caramelized apple with vanilla cream was, according to my wife, the best she had ever eaten!
I found the creme brulee with caramel and crunchy really delicious.
The prices are excellent and in any case very interesting, for being in the province of Varese.
The place is very nice, perhaps slightly outdated but, I must say, I don't mind this type of atmosphere. Among other things, I really appreciated the separate entrance from the room, so that diners are not disturbed by the comings and goings of customers and drafts...
The wine list is not very extensive (which I also approve of in a place of this type), but the bottles are chosen with great care. The mark-ups are correct, considering the labels (we bought a Pinot Noir by Elena Walch for 35 euros).
In short, an excellent experience, truly unexpected. Thank you with all my heart!
19/11/2024: Raw porcini mushrooms with good parmesan, porcini tagliolini and truffle nothing special, the flavor of the truffle was not noticeable and not even that of the mushrooms, the strongest flavor was that of the butter.
COLD environment, in fact I had to eat with my jacket on!
