Truly remarkable one Michelin star restaurant. About 10 minutes from sunrise and with plenty of parking, so easy. The place is very nice especially the view and everything.
We did the tasting menu and I have to say that you leave without being hungry as usually happens in starred restaurants but everything is very good and you eat a lot. The visit to the cellar is a truly remarkable experience in itself, there are around 15 million euros of wine including the cable, in short, a truly infinite choice of wine.

Perhaps the expectations were too high, given that the restaurant has an excellent reputation and during the period of the truffle fair, to dine on weekends you have to book many months in advance. The main room is not exciting because it is very large, with many tables, even large for groups of 10 people, the furnishings and the large windows do not muffle the noise, on the contrary they create a rumbling effect that makes the place look like a company canteen.
Classic cuisine, well executed with some errors, for example our cocotte egg had a completely hard yolk, the veal with tuna sauce was good, too bad about too much sauce and not enough meat.
The spectacular wine list, unfortunately does not correspond to the one published on the Internet, even the paper one available on site, contains many labels no longer available (and simply crossed out with a pencil). Efficient staff, but the service is a little slow, probably due to the number of diners.
Overall good but not worth the trip, we would be curious to try it again outside the truffle season hoping for better service and food.

Experience to be repeated!!!
From the amuse bouche to the coffee...everything perfect! Cozy, elegant and very clean environment; the staff is friendly and prepared; the dishes tasted were presented with an original and at the same time simple plating so that the ingredients were evident: intense and natural flavors made our culinary experience unique; It's hard to describe the wine cellar!

Lunch Nov 15th.
For the 6th consecutive year La Ciau welcomed us. Can’t find enough words to say how special is this place. With the snow we had the chance to see a totally different landscape and it as stunning as on sunny days.
If I have to go to Piedmont during white Truffle season and choose only one dish to have, among all the great restaurants of the region and all the fantastic dishes they offer, I would choose the Tajarin al uevo from La Ciau with white Truffle and a glass of Barolo.
Tip: they have one of the most famous wine cellars of Itália.
2024 - Back here for the 12th consecutive year, and it only gets better. Amazing how Maurilio and his team continue to make one of the best, if not the best, experience in Piemonte. The food, the wine list, and wine cellar, the view and the service, the whole “event” is something you need to go at least once in your lifetime. Congrats to the team!

Sono già stato parecchie volte in questo ristorante.
Oltre alla cucina e al servizio di qualità eccelsa la vista è qualcosa di impagabile. Si mangia affacciati ad una vasta quantità di colline vitate spettacolari.
Questa volta provo il menu del giorno dal mercato ( 6 portate a sorpresa dalla cucina con materie prime del mercato di giornata)
Il menu era molto diverso da un classico menù degustazione. A mio avviso ottimo essendo io uno che mangia piatti forti e decisi come la trippa o le lumache e le animelle.
Ho trovato tutto perfetto soprattutto le parigine ma secondo me se si vuole proporre un menù alla cieca così difficile con piatti non per tutti bisognerebbe avvisare prima il cliente. Non tutti mangiano tutto.
A mio avviso però tutto perfetto come sempre

A La Ciau del Tornavento la forma rispecchia perfettamente la sostanza! Servizio impeccabile, cibo squisito, sala stupenda con un’incredibile cantina di vini pregiatissimi 😍 non vedo l’ora di tornarci ☺️
