The restaurant's strong point is undoubtedly the human factor: the dining room staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always attentive to every need with a smile. Special praise goes to the owners, people with rare honesty and kindness, the kind of people who put the guest first and make everyone feel truly at home. Moving on to the cuisine, expectations are absolutely not disappointed. The dishes are simply excellent, cooked with care and prepared with the freshest ingredients that are evident in every bite. The care taken in selecting the raw materials and the consistency of a high-quality culinary offering are clearly evident. It's rare to find such a perfect combination of good food, expertise, and human honesty. A fully deserved 5-star experience.

We had dinner at Incipit last night. We had very high expectations, given the numerous positive reviews and the intriguing selection on their seafood menu, and we can say they were more than met. We were greeted with great kindness and friendliness, making us feel immediately at ease. At the start of the dinner, they brought us a basket of their homemade bread, which was truly excellent. Unfortunately, the basket itself had stains and was dirty, but the staff noticed and immediately replaced it, practically without us even noticing. This meticulous attention to detail was also reflected in the wait times: the speed of service was impeccable throughout the evening, demonstrating the perfect harmony between the kitchen and the dining room and the excellent training of the waiters. Despite the restaurant being full, the waiter who looked after us was extremely attentive and never neglected us. On his recommendation, we tried an off-menu dish: tonnarello with shrimp tartare and bisque. We decided to share it, and it was served with great care, already portioned onto two plates. From the first bite, we were amazed: the excellent quality of the ingredients was evident, and the flavors, while perfectly blended, were clear and easily distinguishable on the palate. We then continued with the main courses: pistachio-crusted sea bass accompanied by a potato and onion salad tart with a cherry tomato topping, and seared tuna steak with sweet and sour Tropea red onion and black olive cream. The same attention to detail as the first course was confirmed here too: clean and balanced flavors, with no one ingredient overpowering the other. To accompany the dinner, again on the excellent recommendation of the waiter, we chose a bottle of Greco (Cantina Statti 2025), which proved to be pleasantly fruity, just as we had requested. The only two small negatives were the atmosphere inside, which was a bit warm and humid, and the dessert. We opted for a chocolate cheesecake, which, for our taste, was a bit too much. However, these two small things absolutely cannot detract from the overall rating. Such a charming setting, combined with expert cuisine, excellent products, and such helpful staff, deserves top marks. The prices, in our opinion, are absolutely fair and in line with the offerings. We encourage everyone who has the opportunity to visit this little gem in the historic center of Tropea, because it's truly worth it. Really good food, excellent service, and the sommelier and waiter were really kind. My boyfriend and I had a mixed fried platter with very fresh fish and two first courses: scialatielli with tuna and paccheri alla Tropeana, both delicious. We'll definitely be back!!! Congratulations, definitely one of the best places in Tropea.
