Great restaurant with very friendly staff, excellent wine list, the food is really good and they have gluten-free options and they take care of the customers!

“Incipit” is almost a hidden gem, tucked away from the busy High Street and tourist-heavy areas. This spot comes highly recommended by locals — and for good reason. It has a gorgeous outdoor terrace with views over the piazza, but the real wow factor comes when you choose to dine indoors… in the cave! Yes, a beautifully lit, cosy cave with an incredible atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel special. The service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The menu is fantastic, offering a perfect mix of local favourites and creative twists. We went all out and enjoyed the full experience: antipasto, primo, and secondo. The tuna tartare was outstanding, bursting with freshness and flavour. I had the Fileja al ’Nduja ragu, which was absolutely mind-blowing — and high on my Calabria culinary wish list. My partner chose the hazelnut risotto, which was equally exceptional. For mains, I had the pistachio-crusted seabass while my partner had the cod — both dishes beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Excellent restaurant, very tasty, top-notch service. We stumbled upon it by chance; we had a reservation at Alice's. It was a very lucky coincidence, though.

We had dinner outside at this pretty restaurant with good food and service. Indoor tables are in a cave or castle setting and signs be equally charming.

Delicious eggplant parmesan appetizer, seafood risotto, sea bass. Friendly service and fair prices. Lovely setting in a quieter side of town. High point of our week in Tropea.

The best place to have a nice dinner in Tropea. Must try Essenzo (the best one) white wine with sea food. The wines are also the best ones here. Fileja with ’Nduja is just perfect here (tried few different places, but here was the best one).

Good dinner, nothing extraordinary. I would return, excellent service from the staff.

A successful evening in this quiet restaurant, cozy and romantic atmosphere on the terrace, a beautiful large table with a good wine, we particularly appreciated the nicely decorated and flavorful antipasti, as well as the generous and gourmet first courses of pasta with seafood. A treat!
