Il Sombrero In Amantea

Welcome back to Amantea! I haven't been back to Amantea and Sombrero for many years. We had a great time! Excellent food and fresh fish, generous portions! There were 4 of us, we ordered 2 artisanal spaghettoni all'amanteana and 2 paccheri, both exceptional, especially the spaghetti. Then we continued with 2 slices of grilled swordfish, 1 grilled cuttlefish, 1 tuna with Tropea onion and 2 mixed salads, superlative tuna! A bottle of white wine, 2 bottles of water, 1 pistachio tiramisu and 2 coffees to finish for €45 per person. Top price for the quality of the dishes! Friendly service. Unfortunately I only have the photo of the tuna and the dessert. We ended up at one of the most beautiful tables, in the corner with a view of the sea and the sunset. Even after years it is still the best!

This is our second time here and we were not disappointed. Super delicious food and very friendly service. The English and German menus are available at each table via QR code. We'll be back.

Perfect, I went with a family and we ate very, very well, we only ate a very good fish starter and for the main course a cuttlefish and another fresh tuna and everything was very good quality and good service, I recommend going back

Very clean quality restaurant good service slightly high price for having consumed a slice of swordfish grilled vegetables two slices of courgettes two slices of aubergines and water (internally filtered) €35 as they say quality has to be paid for

Our reference to Amantea for years

Very nice place with sea view and quite friendly staff. The first course was exceptional (Linguine with mussels and clams) and also quite filling, shame about the second. I ordered fried calamari (22 euros) which however turned out to be just a taste, on the plate there were around 10-12 little rings (I attach photos), I basically paid around two euros per piece. It's a shame, because the food is good anyway.

When we were ready for dinner, we were surprised that the restaurants recommended to us were not open yet. We were a little hesitant to try Il Sombrero, which was open, because of its mediocre 3.9 rating. I'm very happy that we went there, though. We could not have enjoyed our meal more completely. We had the Spignola (European Bass) with fresh cooked vegetables and the Swordfish with Pasta. Both were excellently prepared, very fresh, and extraordinarily tasty. The service was good, the atmosphere was upscale, and the price was very reasonable.

Let me start by saying that we went for lunch on a weekday out of season, so the place was almost entirely to ourselves, the same can be said for the service, very fast, and the dishes, very fresh fish, pasta with sardines, fennel and breadcrumbs, and mixed fried food, perhaps a little salty and not completely dry, but good.

Partiamo col dire che a mio parere è il ristorante più bello di tutta Amantea, locale veramente molto a tema di mare...molto organizzato con personale molto cordiale e disponibile. Il servizio è stato a mio parere nella norma essendo una domenica con il pienone... Per quando riguarda il discorso materia prima, sono rimasto un po deluso per la qualità dei piatti scelti un primo e un secondo....ottimi vini e prezzi nella Media 50/60 € a persona. Ci ritornerò appena posso per riprovare la l'oro cucina.
