Very close to the main square, elegant and very quiet. We wanted a good Florentine steak and I think we couldn't have chosen a better place! It weighed 1.5kg for two and we didn't even notice, it was so good! Attentive, helpful, and fast service. The price was reasonable for the quality. Recommended!

We ate very well; among the dishes we tried, the pappardelle with hare was delicious. The restaurant is quiet, and the space between tables allows for a bit of privacy. My wife, I, and my two-year-old daughter came. The restaurant staff were very kind, even allowing my little girl to peek into the (very clean) kitchen from outside.

A delightful discovery! We started with a platter of Chiusdino cured meats as an appetizer: excellent quality cured meats, perfectly flavored, fresh, and accompanied by delicious cave cheese. A true delight to fill your stomach. For our second course, we chose wild boar creamed in Chianti, a typical dish executed to perfection: the meat was incredibly tender, the sauce rich and fragrant, with that intense, enveloping flavor that only slow cooking can provide. A generous portion and meticulous presentation. All accompanied by a simply excellent red wine (Rogaio): balanced and perfect with the dishes. Friendly and attentive service, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Fair prices for the quality offered. We will definitely be back, highly recommended for those who love authentic Tuscan cuisine! Thanks for a wonderful day!!

We had lunch here during a short visit to Volterra. We ordered two appetizers and a 1.5 kg Florentine steak, carefully displayed before cooking and served with a side of baked potatoes and delicious spinach. The service began with a small welcome appetizer: a crostini with caramelized onions and confit tomatoes. We stayed full until breakfast the next day. The prices were reasonable for the service and food, especially recommended for a lunch or dinner for two. The staff were very courteous and attentive.

Extremely kind staff, a welcoming and elegant place, we felt pampered. We enjoyed some delicious cheeses as an appetizer with a warm rosemary focaccia, and then shared a delicious Margherita pizza with porcini mushrooms, all accompanied by good wine. We were then treated to some Volterra tozzetti with Vin Santo, which were truly appreciated. Exceptional!

Papaveri e Papere

17/02/2026: The "Papaveri e Papere" restaurant is located in the San Miniato district, just outside the town center. Last Sunday, we were guests at this location. We enjoyed a meat-based tasting menu for lunch; the dishes were expertly plated with quality ingredients and beautifully presented in a captivating color palette. A wide array of courses, masterfully prepared by the chef, helped create an ideal, relaxing atmosphere. The sommelier in charge recommended an excellent local wine pairing: the 100% Sanforte, and it was a perfect choice. All the staff were kind, empathetic, professional, and prompt, demonstrating a marked and meticulous "customer focus." The atmosphere was very refined, and the restaurant also has ample parking. The price was more than fair, considering the quality and quantity. I highly recommend this restaurant.
