Very well-kept restaurant, good food, very friendly staff, excellent wine list

We had lunch for two at Il Melograno, and overall, the experience was pleasant, although not entirely up to expectations based on the prices. Among the standouts, I'd highlight the veal with tuna sauce, truly well executed, and the excellent rabbit roll. The Nebbiolo recommended by the sommelier was also very popular, and proved to be a perfect choice. We were a bit unsure, however, about the tortelli stuffed with roast chicken, shrimp, and shrimp sauce: a combination that left us a bit perplexed and, in our opinion, lacked a convincing balance. The slow-cooked rump steak was also rather dry. The desserts are good, but €8 per portion seems excessive. The overall impression is of a cuisine that aspires to be sophisticated, but where not all choices are fully successful. Considering a final cost of around €130 for two, one would expect a little more. Furthermore, we're not in the center of a large city, but in a small town in the Monferrato area, where operating costs are presumably different from those of a restaurant in a much more expensive urban setting. Overall, a good experience, with some successful dishes and excellent wine, but the quality-price ratio could probably be improved. For this reason, despite having enjoyed a pleasant lunch, I don't think we'll return: at these prices, we expect more convincing cuisine and greater consistency between ambition, results, and final price.

Returning home from a family vacation in the Aosta Valley, I took my time driving along the main road, passing through mountain villages before taking the return road. Once I reached MONFERRATO, I detoured a few kilometers and arrived in TERRUGGIA. A small village south of Monferrato, where I found MELOGRANO, a PET-FRIENDLY restaurant 🐶💚, serving classic local dishes as well as delicious vegetarian and vegan options... 😋 A warm, family-friendly atmosphere, with fast and punctual service. The entire staff is polite, kind, and very empathetic... which is rare these days... 😉 They'll even delight you with tastings, before and during your meal... 😊 So if you're passing through MONFERRATO... Il Melograno, in my opinion, is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED stop... for those like me who have a 🐶 that isn't just ACCEPTED... but is WELCOME here... ☺️ To conclude, the PRICES are VERY FAIR for dishes made with excellent ingredients and attention to every detail... 👌🏻 So, BON APPETIT to everyone, and to me... until next time... 😌

Excellent restaurant, absolutely worth trying

I deduct 1 star immediately if a place serves baby animals, let be start with that. Service was lovely, every one we spoke to took their absolute time to explain us the menu and they thought with us about vegan options. The chef took a vegan course somewhere at some point and is very interested in vegan cuisine. Unfortunately this didn't really shine through too much. My main course, gnocchi with vegetables lacked flavour and the gnocchi fell apart a bit. My dinner parnters enjoyed their dishes and wines a lot, the rabbit was cooked to perfection. The first course, fried artichoke was very nice. The plates looked stunning. If my non-vegan dinner partners were giving this review it would have been a 5 star review, for sure.

The restaurant is beautiful inside. The place is very well-maintained. As a vegetarian, I had no problem choosing the dishes. The menu has everything—for vegans, vegetarians, and even gluten-free options. The selection is very wide. The service is very professional. The prices are normal.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Fantastic service, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, and unforgettable wine. 100% recommended.

Lunch today for my aunt's birthday. The place is beautiful, rustic, elegant, and well-maintained. The service was excellent and the food was good. We had a great time. I highly recommend it.
