A confirmation... every time we're in Asti we stop for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is well-kept and spotlessly clean, with a refined menu and excellent, plentiful food. The service was attentive, attentive, and professional. Prices were reasonable for what we ate and drank.

We were passing through, exiting the highway specifically to visit Asti and grab a bite to eat. I didn't think we'd stumble upon this little gem of local cuisine.
A very nice place with well-selected wines.
The antipasti selection was spot on, with a lovely cut of veal with tuna sauce and a choice of round steak. The bread and anchovies were delicious, with a very pleasant "green sauce" that kept you coming back for more. The raw beef was good, although I prefer it a little more seasoned as a tartare (I think it was made to enhance the quality of the meat anyway).
The agnolotti were very good, with a nice sauce that tasted more like a roast sauce than a stock.
The tagliata had good flavor, albeit lacking in texture, despite the meat being a bit chewy (which I personally appreciate, if the taste is what I received). The baked potatoes were good, but the escarole was a bit bland. The only tiny flaw: the tartare wasn't really tartare, as it lacked acidity and was rather fatty (but we're really splitting hairs here).
The best part, however, was that they brought the butter to the table with the tasting. THANK YOU!
All in all, a really good lunch, quick service, and a welcoming dining room. I'd happily go back if only I didn't live 400 km away. Bravo, bravo, bravo.

What more does one need to say about a restaurant where both the staff and the dinners are jovial. The food was fresh and pasta just melted in our mouths. The wine selection looks informal but is well thought out.
