Erba Brusca In Milano

Truly superb! The staff was attentive and always smiling (a rarity these days). We tasted dishes with unusual flavors, and they were excellent! Special attention was also paid to the presentation. Well done, well done, well done! Great atmosphere! I'll definitely be back!

The place is very charming. The wood, lighting, and warm-toned materials contribute to a calm atmosphere. The menu is interesting, the food is good, and it's prepared in a practically open kitchen. The service is courteous and friendly. We had a tasting menu, which unfortunately we couldn't finish due to a sudden headache. When it came to the bill, the ladies in the dining room only charged us for the dishes we'd ordered, and without us even mentioning it, they prepared desserts for us to take away, in biodegradable packaging. Ate them the next day, they were still excellent. As an accompaniment, we ordered a Paltrinieri rosé Lambrusco, which we didn't finish either, so we took some home. What can I say? Congratulations... see you next time.

I returned to Erba Brusca for dinner after a few years, choosing to sit in the charming Veranda Grande, a pleasant setting that reflects the restaurant's spirit, immersed in greenery (or at least strongly connected to it, given its proximity to the vegetable garden). I opted for one of their tasting menus (ranging from €39 to €54 excluding drinks, a price in line with Milanese fare and the quality of the ingredients, which I assume are meticulously crafted). The cuisine proved interesting and flavorful, with dishes that showcased a fine craftsmanship. I found the borlotti bean soup enveloping and creamy, just the right amount, and the grilled purple cabbage was unique and well-balanced in its pairings. The attention to artisanal bread is a detail I appreciated. Unfortunately, there were some technical issues that dampened my enthusiasm. The linguine with braised spring onion was stuck together, a mistake that shouldn't happen in a restaurant of this caliber. Once separated, the flavor was all there, but the flaw is objective. The pork braised in milk and sage was also a bit too tough to bite into. ​The service is courteous and good, but I found it exasperatingly slow, which made the evening feel too long. The accuracy in describing the dishes also needs improvement: the dessert (farro and coffee crumble, persimmon sorbet) was described incorrectly, which is a shame because it didn't meet my expectations, even though the dessert itself was still delicious. ​Erba Brusca is a restaurant with a fascinating philosophy and flavorful and original basic cuisine. The atmosphere on the large veranda is an added bonus. However, the restaurant needs to work on the precision of the dishes' execution and the efficiency of the service to fully justify the cost of the experience. I recommend it to anyone looking for a "green" oasis in Milan and garden-inspired cuisine, but I advise patience. 2025 Review: Highly recommended. It may not be in the city center, but it's easily accessible by car. It's a charming and intimate place where you can enjoy refined, well-crafted dishes. If you want to appreciate the chef's creativity and skill, I recommend the fixed-price option, which will serve you four (or six if you're hungrier) surprise dishes not included in the à la carte menu. The staff will be happy to explain each one to you along the way. The menu is rounded off with a good selection of wines to choose from.

Refined, locally sourced cuisine, not for everyone, limited menu, limited scope for variation, charming location.
