The prices are a bit exaggerated but I think it's normal for Rome: two cacio e pepe, a pepsi and a lemon tea for 43 euros... nothing to say about the quality, perhaps the portion is a bit small.

We had such a lovely experience celebrating my birthday at this charming restaurant in Rome. Established in 1922 and built on the ruins of an ancient theatre, the restaurant has a truly unique atmosphere — dining there feels almost like being inside a cave, surrounded by hisstory. The food was very good, and the service was attentive and friendly. What made the evening even more special was the thoughtful surprise they brought out for my birthday — a delicious tiramisu with a candle on top! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend visiting. One tip: make your reservation online well in advance, as the restaurant is quite popular.

Excellent, typically Italian restaurant!

Unfortunately, Pancrazio was a mixed experience for us. The restaurant has a great location and an interesting historic setting, but the food and overall experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. We booked a table downstairs in the “Zona Archeologica,” thinking the archaeological setting would be a highlight. In August, however, this was a mistake. The room was extremely hot with very little air circulation, which made the meal uncomfortable. I would definitely recommend requesting a table upstairs during the summer. The table bread was stale, and the Chianti we ordered was served far too warm. The bruschetta appetizer was particularly disappointing — the tomatoes didn’t taste fresh and the cheese had very little flavor. The carbonara, however, was very good and was easily the highlight of the meal. The cacio e pepe was a major disappointment. It was extremely salty and tasted overwhelmingly of Pecorino Romano, with very little creaminess or balance. It honestly felt like they had put an entire block of Pecorino into the dish rather than properly emulsifying the sauce. We also tried the veal with sage butter. It was fine, but ultimately forgettable — essentially pieces of veal served over mashed potatoes without much that made the dish stand out. Overall, I expected more from a restaurant with such a long history and reputation. The carbonara was very good, but the overall experience fell short.

Everything was delicious! We ordered rigatoni carbonara and fettuccine with rosemary butter and parmesan, and both were incredible. Plus, Tom's service was outstanding. We'll be back and we'll definitely recommend it!

We ordered the eggplant Parmesan and the fettuccine pasta, and everything was perfect! Our waiter, Shukur, provided excellent service and made our experience even better. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend! make sure to get reservation to sit at the basement!!

Tom took care of us for our first meal in Rome!! Will be hard to top this experience. The history, the food and the pasta were unbelievable! Definitely a “can’t miss” when in Rome!
