A truly wonderful experience! The waiters were friendly, extremely kind, and always attentive to the customer. The food was exquisite, everything prepared with care and truly delicious. A special thank you because, when I asked for a candle on the cake for my husband's birthday, they didn't hesitate, making the moment even more special and enjoyable. We had dinner at Da Gemma in Amalfi Town. The atmosphere was lovely and the flavours in my La Genovese were really good, although some of the pasta was a little too al dente for my taste. The prices were on the higher side, but overall it was still an enjoyable meal. With so many amazing restaurants in the area though, I probably wouldn’t return or specifically recommend this one.

Amalfi is packed with tourist places with mediocre food...

EXCELLENT Dinner, Lovely View and Atmosphere! Ate here last night outside on their porch overlooking the main square in Amalfi. Food was very good, lots of very fresh and also raw seafood! Service was excellent and the touches of an amuse Boucher to start and Limoncello to end our meal were perfect and much appreciated. It is nice being up, off the main square as there are a lot of cars and motorcycles otherwise plowing through. This was far more relaxed while still allowing for people watching. Meal here was far superior to Taverna Buonavicino (don’t go there), in both food quality, preparation and service. Highly recommend. Sit outside if at all possible and come early for a seat overlooking the Square!

We made a last minute reservation as bookings are recommended. We only ordered mains but the chef sent out little starters to all the tables that night. (Maybe it’s done every night). Our mains were delicious. The service was excellent. We had a dessert which was also delicious and again the chef sent out a dessert on the house. Staff were excellent, atmosphere was excellent, food was excellent.

The food was fantastic; unfortunately the atmosphere was lacking somewhat, although this may have been as we were seated inside rather than on the balcony, which did look nicer. We were told when we arrived that there were no tables available on the balcony, which we were completely fine with, however, less than 5 minutes after our arrival, another couple (without a prior reservation) were immediately shown to a table on the balcony.
Some of the staff were very friendly and welcoming, however, others seemed disinterested, and we were somewhat pointedly asked for a tip whilst the waiter hovered over us when we were handed the bill, which was quite off-putting.

The experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The dish recommended by the waitress was not on the menu, being presented as the "dish of the day", but the price was very high for what I received. I decided to go with their recommendation and ordered pasta carbonara instead, but the taste was below expectations. I have eaten this dish in Italy before, in various places, but this was, unfortunately, the worst version I have tried so far. I do not recommend it.
