A casual, welcoming, and delicious place. If you can, sit on the terrace with a panoramic view. Good wine, excellent food (we tried the egg with pecorino and truffle, the paccheri alla carbonara with cod, and the zucchini risotto with basil oil and burrata), and friendly staff. In the heart of Cortona, this bistro offers simple yet innovative dishes, expertly crafted with seasonal ingredients. From aperitif to dessert, the dishes are well-balanced in flavor and combinations, offering an excellent dinner at prices in line with average fare. Great work, keep up the good work!

We stumbled upon the restaurant by chance as we walked down from the Basilica of Santa Margherita. The tables with panoramic views and the exquisitely refined interior immediately won us over. The menu is varied and suitable for all palates, as is the selection of wines and beers. Although sophisticated, the portions are not lacking in size, leaving us fully satisfied at the end of the meal. Special mention goes to the duck pici, as well as the chocolate caprese cake (incredible!). The service was absolutely attentive, professional, yet friendly! If we were to return to Cortona, we would definitely book a table in advance so as not to miss out!

I called to make reservations and the owner, Davide, was so very pleasant and sent me directions and made sure to make our honeymoon dinner exceptional!!! His wife is the Chef and he works just as hard as his employees! When I asked what his favorites on the menu were he explained that his wife was the chef and everything is excellent. Davide was NOT joking or being kind…this truly was exceptional and literally FOODIE HEAVEN! There were only 4 people running the restaurant- him, his wife, a sous chef and one waiter. This place truly had the he best food I’ve ever had! Period. End of story. The view, the kindness, the complex flavors left both my Italian husband and I completely speechless; which for me is a RARE occasion. He promised a special night and delivered it! I was truly impressed, honored and grateful for his special gem.

Una cena davvero straordinaria in uno dei luoghi più affascinanti della Toscana. Il Cortona Bistrot ci ha accolti con un’atmosfera calda ed elegante, e ci ha conquistati con una cucina raffinata, ricca di personalità e profondamente legata al territorio. Abbiamo iniziato con un eccellente uovo barzotto cotto al coccetto con pecorino e tartufo: un antipasto sorprendente, dove la cremosità dell’uovo incontra la sapidità del pecorino e l’intensità del tartufo in un equilibrio perfetto. Un inizio davvero promettente. I crostini di fegatelli erano un omaggio alla tradizione toscana: saporiti, intensi, preparati con maestria e serviti con cura. Ogni boccone raccontava una storia di territorio e passione per la cucina autentica. La tagliata al sugo di genovese è stata il vero trionfo della serata: carne tenerissima, cotta alla perfezione, condita con un sugo ricco, profondo e avvolgente. Un piatto che fonde sapientemente la cultura gastronomica toscana con quella campana. Per concludere in dolcezza, abbiamo scelto due dessert impeccabili: le fragole con panna, freschissime e leggere, e il brownie al cioccolato, denso, fondente e pieno di gusto. Un finale perfetto per un pasto eccellente. Il servizio è stato professionale, cortese e sempre attento. Il contesto, con vista panoramica su Cortona, ha reso l’esperienza ancora più speciale. Il Cortona Bistrot è una tappa obbligata per chi cerca una cucina d’eccellenza in un ambiente suggestivo. Complimenti a tutto lo staff!

Con la mia compagna assieme a 2 coppie di amici siamo stati a cena di sabato sera e siamo rimasti soddisfatti. Unici consigli per i proprietari rivedere i prezzi dei secondi piatti, mi riferisco alla tagliata di manzo ( buonissima la carne) accompagnata da patate e insalata con pomodorini al costo di 25,00 euro. Ancor più importante rivedere la proposta dei dolci. Cantucci senza vin santo (biscotti e vin santo da acquistare separatamente) per noi toscani DOC è stato un colpo al cuore. Comunque consigliato
