Cortona is a charming town in Umbria on the border with Tuscany. It is located on a high mountain. The main street is charming and everything is open even on Sunday. The ice cream there is some of the best ice cream I have ever eaten.

Friendly and attentive service, interesting and tasty menu

Cozy little place, with tables both inside and outside, furnished in an original way with modern pieces of various styles and beautiful REAL succulents on the tables. Kind and friendly service, open kitchen, everything extremely clean and well-kept. Not the usual tourist trap place! Basic menu, but sufficiently varied and well-kept; everything we ordered (first courses, side dishes, desserts) was exquisite. To be repeated! Compliments to the owners for their management and their work.

A lunch not to be forgotten. Hand made paste and other local dishes. Craft beers also. Beautiful view out across the valley. What a great way to spend a lunch time.

Una cena davvero straordinaria in uno dei luoghi più affascinanti della Toscana. Il Cortona Bistrot ci ha accolti con un’atmosfera calda ed elegante, e ci ha conquistati con una cucina raffinata, ricca di personalità e profondamente legata al territorio. Abbiamo iniziato con un eccellente uovo barzotto cotto al coccetto con pecorino e tartufo: un antipasto sorprendente, dove la cremosità dell’uovo incontra la sapidità del pecorino e l’intensità del tartufo in un equilibrio perfetto. Un inizio davvero promettente. I crostini di fegatelli erano un omaggio alla tradizione toscana: saporiti, intensi, preparati con maestria e serviti con cura. Ogni boccone raccontava una storia di territorio e passione per la cucina autentica. La tagliata al sugo di genovese è stata il vero trionfo della serata: carne tenerissima, cotta alla perfezione, condita con un sugo ricco, profondo e avvolgente. Un piatto che fonde sapientemente la cultura gastronomica toscana con quella campana. Per concludere in dolcezza, abbiamo scelto due dessert impeccabili: le fragole con panna, freschissime e leggere, e il brownie al cioccolato, denso, fondente e pieno di gusto. Un finale perfetto per un pasto eccellente. Il servizio è stato professionale, cortese e sempre attento. Il contesto, con vista panoramica su Cortona, ha reso l’esperienza ancora più speciale. Il Cortona Bistrot è una tappa obbligata per chi cerca una cucina d’eccellenza in un ambiente suggestivo. Complimenti a tutto lo staff!

Special pizzas, congratulations to the chef...

Holy Saturday, it's around 1pm, Cortona is quite crowded and after a long walk we realize that it's time for lunch, we're starting to feel hungry but we don't have any reservations. Just at that moment we pass in front of the Cortona Bistrot and after a quick read of the menu we ask if there is a table for three. We are greeted with a smile and seated within minutes. The interior of the restaurant with its retro-style furnishings pleasantly strikes us and welcomes us with its warmth. Soon someone arrives who, with the same initial kindness and smile, asks us what we would like to consume and soon we are served the drinks followed by a pinsa, two salads, beans all'uccelletto and a (generous) plate of the best tagliatelle with white ragout I have ever tried. During our stay in the restaurant (having a privileged point of view on the open kitchen) we admired the harmony and serenity with which those who were "behind the scenes" worked, collaborating in perfect harmony and synergy with those who managed the room. Once our lunch is finished, we pay and leave reluctantly because we know we won't have another opportunity to return to the Cortona Bistrot over the weekend to try the other delights on the menu. In conclusion: full and undeserved rating. If you can try it!

Appena si entra nel locale si respira un'aria di casa, il locale è piccolo ma molto molto accogliente, arredato con grandissimo gusto, non è il solito ristorante, sembra di stare in un variegato e caldo salottino. Il cibo è di altissima qualità e poi, finalmente, non si trovano i soliti piatti toscani, ogni portata è sapientemente ricercata, equilibrata, con un mix di sapori nuovi ma piacevolissimi al palato, le materie prime sono di altissima qualità. Ci ha accolti la simpatia del proprietrio,Davide, mai invadente ma molto attento alle nostre richieste, vi suggerisco di seguire i suoi consigli perchè sono veramente utili. Molto bella l'idea di mettere la cucina a vista dove lavora la moglie di Davide, efficentissima e pulitissima. Infine il prezzo è veramente onestissimo, CONSIGLIATISSIMO. Assolutamente il miglior ristorante della città.
