Cibarium Salsamenteria In Fontanellato

This is a very casual and cozy restaurant. They offer locally sourced prosciutto, cheese, bread, and wine at reasonable prices. The owner is very friendly and explained a lot about the prosciutto. I was able to spend a very pleasant evening in June in this quiet restaurant near the castle.

We stopped for a quick lunch while waiting to enter and see the fortress. The cured meats are very good, as are the daily specials. The place isn't very big, so reservations are recommended.

A SAFE HARBOR Working in Fontanellato from September to June, I often found myself enjoying a meal with a colleague and friend at Cibarium. From the first time, we were welcomed with the utmost kindness and cordiality, and as we continued our weekly "fixture," we were spoiled with the finest dishes available on the menu. Heavenly cured meats, melt-in-the-mouth cheeses, crispy and flavorful giardiniera, authentic and inviting first courses that make you feel like you're at grandma's house! ...but also buttery tagliata, excellent beef tartare, a choice of equally delicious side dishes, and truly, everything you could want to satisfy your palate after a busy day. Above all, at Cibarium, you'll find something that's a rare commodity these days: genuine kindness and great courtesy. The young, dynamic staff professionally remembers your favorite foods, recommends dishes based on your tastes, and makes sure everything is to your liking. This attitude is truly priceless. Cibarium: you enter as a curious traveler, you find a "safe haven", and you simply can't wait to return!!!

Very welcoming atmosphere, young and friendly staff. I highly recommend it if you want to eat traditional food. The torta fritta is a must-try. Reservations are recommended.

Friendly and professional owners, spectacular platters of cold cuts and parmesan with fried cake. The homemade parmesan cream is very good, and they offer it to you while you wait for your order.
