During our visit to Pietrelcina, we discovered a true gem: the trattoria "C'era una volta." The restaurant is simply beautiful, housed in a traditional stone structure that creates a warm, authentic, and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for immersing yourself in the local tradition.
The staff was knowledgeable, kind, and very friendly. They passionately guided us through our menu choices, recommending some truly exceptional specialties that made the experience even more special.
Everything was accompanied by an excellent wine from their cellar, which deserves a special mention: it's truly extensive and packed with labels, capable of satisfying every taste and showcasing the dishes to perfection.
A place where you eat well, drink well, and above all, feel welcomed. If you're passing through Pietrelcina, stopping here is almost a must. Highly recommended!

We hadn't been there for a couple of years, we gladly returned and were happy with the quality products, the courteous staff, Angelo is a nice guy as always and we felt like we were part of the family, which is very important in these times, we definitely want to go back.

A truly lovely, homely trattoria. I had excellent pan-fried fusilli, the tapered ones with ragù were truly delicious, the meat was excellent... an excellent pork sausage, and a side salad and cherry tomatoes!! Everything was delicious, practically homemade!!

We were warmly welcomed. We ate very well. The kitchen was probably a bit surprised by our constant requests for "more meat." The steak was excellent, well-aged and cooked to perfection. The two portions of lamb, which my companion tore into, were excellent. My pork tenderloin was well-cooked and juicy (which is not a given).
Recommended for the meat. I haven't tried anything else. I hope to return soon to try the other dishes.

The atmosphere is small but very quaint. We admit we were initially a bit perplexed by the lack of a menu (we were later told it was available on a cabinet at the entrance) and by the owner's attitude, who actually proved to be pleasant and friendly. The food was excellent, with delicious first courses that blend tradition and innovation. The prices were perhaps a bit higher than we expected, but the quality fully met our expectations. Recommended, especially for the quality of the dishes available. There's no parking nearby, but if you're lucky and it's not a peak day, you can find a spot on the nearby streets.
