In the magical and spiritual village of Pietrelcina, we discovered this family-run trattoria, with a refined atmosphere and excellent food. We had the pleasure of meeting and being served by Antonio, a thoughtful man who offers excellent advice on the dishes...a truly lovely place. Highly recommended.

Excellent experience at the "C'era una volta" restaurant in Pietrelcina. Perfect location just a few meters from the church. Angelo, the owner, and his staff were friendly, kind, and professional. Extensive menu. Varied appetizers with cured meats, cheeses, and a few surprises: polenta with mushrooms and a stuffed artichoke, and escarole served with capers (a delicacy). Generous first courses: ravioli with tomato sauce, gnocchi with cherry tomatoes and burrata. We didn't order second courses because the portions were generous. We ordered another stuffed artichoke. Everything was excellent. Recommended.

We ate wonderfully and were pampered by everyone.

I had dinner as a couple on Saturday, April 25th and 26th... Truly nothing to complain about, a warm welcome, attentive, friendly yet discreet management. They let me go down to the cellar to choose a wine even though it wasn't open. We ate excellent appetizers (mostly cured meats. I especially loved the salami, but also the polenta with mushrooms). For the main course, we tried the steak, on the recommendation. Truly delicious. It melted in your mouth. The two of us devoured it, even spluttering the bone. Excellent experience. Highly recommended!

Tonight we dined at this restaurant in Pietrelcina. It was our first time there. I had booked well in advance because, as everyone knows, it's best to do so on a Saturday, and I have to say, everything was perfect. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted very kindly and seated right away. The restaurant is entirely made of stone, very welcoming, tastefully decorated, and they even have a stunning wine cellar. It's a family-run business, and they're truly wonderful and professional people who immediately put everyone at ease. Antonio served us, and not only was he very friendly but also knew how to recommend what to eat. We ordered fusilli with tomato sauce and sausage, but before they arrived, he delighted us with a taste of rustic focaccia, which practically disappeared immediately. The fusilli were delicious; the ingredients were excellent, cooked to perfection. The portions were so generous that we only ordered a Chianina burger and fries afterwards... What can I say: top-quality meat, cooked to perfection. All washed down with two glasses of Aglianico! Dessert was also included: hazelnut and coconut truffle and nougat dessert. To finish, a bitter liqueur and a grappa. We were very satisfied; they deserve a solid 10 out of 10! Five stars is not enough. If you find yourself in Pietrelcina, go there; it's worth it!
