While visiting Matera, we had lunch at this little restaurant. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

We had lunch among the Sassi of Matera in a truly unique setting: outdoor tables overlooking a spectacular view.
The menu offers traditional dishes, as well as modern twists, such as cacio e pepe with crusco peppers, cooked with great skill and attention to authentic flavors. The orecchiette with turnip tops, fried breadcrumbs, and crusco peppers, as well as the caponata, were delicious.
The service was excellent: the staff were friendly, fast, and very helpful, despite the unusual hours (the kitchen is open until 4 pm!).
A relaxing lunch made special by the evocative setting and the quality of both the food and the hospitality. Highly recommended for those who want to experience an authentic experience in the heart of Matera.

The food was excellent but small portions. Nice environment with a very fantastic view. There was a sign on the wall that said that the tip was 30% of the total amount. However, the sign was in Italian and not in English, so none of us noticed it and when paying we gave 50 euros in tip or service as they call it.

Both dishes were delicious, and the free local bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was fantastic. The tiramisu was one of the best we've ever had. The staff were very kind and helpful.

You don't need a reservation. I went a little after 12 and there was no one there. I wanted to try the eggplant lasagna, but they said no, which was a shame. The staff was friendly. I've only had orchiette here, so I can't compare, but it had that shiitake mushroom flavor + crunch??

The food was tasty, but nothing special. We especially enjoyed the fried bread and cheese balls – we highly recommend them as an appetizer, especially for a couple. The pasta portions were quite small. The wine price was disappointing, as a bottle cost €20. It's good that the menu clearly states that the coperto is €2.50 – there are no surprises when paying the bill.
