On a pleasant spring evening, my wife and I had the pleasure of taking two foreign guests to the Cantina Piemontese, a restaurant that proved to be a magnificent showcase of the gastronomic tradition of Piedmont.
Right from the appetizers, the cuisine has managed to conquer everyone: the rabbit tuna, soft and tasty, and the veal with tuna sauce, performed with balance and respect for the classic recipe, are perfect examples of how tradition can be celebrated with elegance.
The menu continues with main courses that lived up to expectations: well-structured and tasty ravioli, a surprisingly good truffle pasta, despite it not being in season - a sign of careful attention to the selection of ingredients - and a long-cooked cheek, tender and enveloping, which closed the meal with satisfaction.
The wine list deserves a special note, extensive and well-curated, which ranges from the most prestigious labels to bottles perfectly in harmony with the dishes offered. It is a real pleasure for those who love to explore Piedmontese oenology (and beyond) with competence and freedom of choice.
The environment also plays its part in making the experience memorable: the interior, in particular the Gio Ponti room, is refined without being pretentious. Unfortunately we were unable to get a table outside, which on that mild and bright evening would have been the ideal culmination of an already perfect dinner.

We had booked a table in that particular Italian restaurant, attracted above all by the internal environment. Upon arrival, we were informed that the room booked was closed for that evening, and we were therefore accommodated in a standard room, nice but without anything special. The choice of the menu was limited, and in particular for the starters we would have liked at least one classic dish that we would certainly like, since the available options did not satisfy us. We opted for the octopus, but were informed that it was sold out. On a Saturday night, with a reservation for 9.30pm, how is it possible that a dish is already sold out? We were served four ravioli, with an ordinary taste. The fassona was good, but the portion was really tiny, accompanied by boiled and tasteless spinach. Given the lack of interesting alternatives and the hunger, we decided to go to another restaurant. It's a real shame, because it seems like a fine venue with great potential. The waiters were friendly, but the service needs improvement.

Piedmontese haute cuisine. The environment is very nice and all the staff are very professional.
This lunch also confirmed my previous opinion, all very good choices.

Pranzo in coppia. Un bellissimo locale, ottima accoglienza, servizio veloce e accurato.
Avendo origini piemontesi ci aspettavamo un menù molto più tipico. Ravioli del plin, bollito, ….magari non presenti nel menù in questo periodo.
Abbiamo comunque mangiato bene. Ottimi i dolci che abbiamo assaggiato, il mascarpone al Marsala è la Tarta Tatin alle mele.
Prezzo nella norma, si è a due passi dal centro di Milano.
