I'm now adding Caffé Italia to my list of restaurants in Desenzano to go to for pizza and steak. I love their thinner crust pizza. Just like the pizza I liked in the States. And the beef was tender, not grissely like a couple of other places I've tried the steak. I ordered the tagliata today. The rocket and parmesan that came with it made the perfect salad. I washed it down with the tastiest spritz on the strip! I love the location by the Duomo, the terrace is nice with a slight breeze, and the interior of the restaurant is lovely. And it has nice bathrooms!!! 😂

Very good pasta. We tried the ragu and the shrimp with pesto pistasj something, and they were buzzing. We came back the next day and tried the pizza, also very good! But I think the pastas was the winner!

If I could, I’d probably rate the food around 3.8 stars.
It’s good, simple Italian food. I’ve had the marinara pizza, spaghetti bolognese, and a margherita pizza from here over different visits, and everything has consistently been quite good. The staff are also lively and welcoming, which adds to the atmosphere.
Service isn’t the fastest, and since the restaurant is right in the middle of the pedestrian area, there were several flower sellers and a musician walking between the tables during our meal. That part made the experience feel a bit hectic at times.
Overall though, it’s a solid spot and I would still recommend it.

To outline, from the start we were the last orders due to the time. The service was good, but the food was very poor. Firstly the wrong salad was delivered and then the right one was missing the ingredients, also we were given garlic olive oil focaccia, but it wasn't, it was a crispy pizza base with the smallest amount of olive oil and some raw garlic on top.
The wine was nice, and the service was friendly, but food wise, best to go elsewhere

The food was generally good, but nothing special. A bit overpriced.
The waiter was extremely chatty, almost obnoxiously pushy, and kept all the change without giving us a chance to decide how much to tip. He shamelessly ripped us off as tourists.
