Interesting experience with unfamiliar foods, at least at this organization. The staff was very kind.

What can I say? After years of knowing Balafon, each visit is a pleasant return, a slow and satisfying immersion in the elegant yet simple and mellow atmosphere created by the owners (the attentive mother in the dining room and her son in the kitchen), who immediately put you at ease, leaving you feeling completely at ease. Thora's cuisine perfectly expresses the flavors and aromas of various parts of the African continent, but always with perfect balance, with spices and ingredients of the highest quality, used with skill and taste, satisfying the palate and caressing it with great attention. People matter to us, and here this aspect is brought to the fore, always with great elegance and simplicity that make you feel at home and, above all, make you want to return each time, perhaps even more often. Balafon is certainly the best "African" restaurant in Milan, by far. Thank you! to this wonderful couple of restaurateurs, promoted and confirmed as such across the board. Bravo!

Highly recommended! We started with three appetizers: the samosas and plantains were really good, but the refried beans were a real surprise—special! All accompanied by a super-spicy habanero sauce and another, milder one, whose name, unfortunately, we can't remember. For the main course, we chose three different sauces, served with two types of couscous and rice, accompanied by vegetables, beef, and chicken. Everything was delicious here, too: tender meat, rich, and perfectly balanced sauces. We paired them with an excellent South African white wine. The desserts, very good, come from an external pastry shop: Awa explained that in Africa, traditional desserts are often fried and can be a bit heavy. It would be interesting to try those made with crème fraîche, but she said it's hard to find. The owner, Awa, is a special person: welcoming, friendly, and always ready to share interesting anecdotes, ranging from cooking to life experiences. An authentic and delightful experience. We'll definitely be back!

What a wonderful discovery! On the recommendation of a friend, we went to Balafon and were immediately greeted by a wonderful welcome, thanks to the charismatic hostess, a precious yet discreet presence throughout the evening. We tried several dishes, all delicious with high-quality ingredients. We finished with desserts, this time Italian, made with top-quality pastry products. We'll be back soon; the food is excellent, the prices reasonable, and the atmosphere intimate and welcoming. Thank you!

Perfect place, you're immediately greeted by the unmistakable smell of incense and home cooking. A restaurant run by a mother and son. The mother in the dining room takes truly great care of the customers, serving us immediately and making us feel at ease. The son, even when we booked, gave the impression of being a truly kind and thoughtful man, which he proved to be during a chat after dinner. Delicious food and generous portions. I recommend coming very hungry. My girlfriend and I will definitely be back. Be patient when looking for parking, but it's worth it. Thanks again, Balafon ❤️
